I hated it. I went back to my grill with a grill plate. Hot dogs, steaks, chicken, etc don't cook great on a griddle IMO.

Tore down an old privacy fence in prep of our new patio now that the front gate is done and does the same in terms of privacy from the front yard. Time to rent the equipment to do the hard work.

Just got one a week ago....chicken quesadillas and smash burgers so far....IMHO, way more versatile than a grill. Love mine. Doing beef stroganoff tonight.

This was after washing the retardant off last Friday. Side yard was poured this morning, should be done with concrete tomorrow!

You’re crazy. hot dogs cook fine, chicken doesn’t stick to each bar and tear apart or get black and sooty from flame ups, steaks can be cooked ON a pad of butter to enrich flavor and again…no flame ups…..as well the ability to cook eggs, bacon, pancakes…..these griddles are the tits

This post is 8X8 cypress and has been in this spot for 45 yrs. The bottom of it had rotted out over the years and dropped about 1.25 inches. Wood prices right now are nuts, 1K for a new post at the moment. Pre covid it could be had for <300 so I'll wait until I find a deal or the prices come back down.
In the mean time, I cut 2 4X4X8" 3/8 wall tubing, welded them together and cut 4" out of the post. Used them as a base and it'll do for now. I used my Tundra jack and made a T post of 2X4's to lift the roof.

You could always just trim out the bottom of the post to cover the steel now that the rot is gone. I’m sure you could make it look great.

Great idea, I have some 1x8 cypress that would work perfect.

    Thanks

Check the build link in my signature.
Was just gonna suggest the same thing. Looks like it was originally put in place without any barrier between it and the concrete - now that you've got it lifted up off of direct contact with the ground, it'll probably stand for another 50+ years without issue. Hit those steel pieces with some cold galvanizing compound, put a piece of 30# roofing felt under the post, and then wrap it with some trim and call it done!

I have felt under the post. These are old cypress and they thought nothing of setting them right on the ground back then

Yes I can fit under the handles The seat. The seat sinks down about 4" when I sit on it, Then floats up and down a few inches over bumps.

Didn't really do it today, but its at a point where its looking good again. Remodeled our kitchen, replaced tile with wood look tile, remodeled laundry room. The picture with the metal supports is the structure to hold the quartzite top in the laundry room. The last picture is a coffee bar that I built into our pantry. It was a weird area and this was a cool use for it. The lights in the floating shelf are small LED gimbal lights from home depot.63618236022__F74DE688-8BEB-40AB-9142-581DD95A794F.jpg 63626695625__6FAAC3D3-6EB2-4CFF-9C7C-48ADDC1336F3.jpg IMG_5187.jpg IMG_5264.jpg IMG_5262.jpg IMG_5597.jpg IMG_5588.jpg IMG_5589.jpg IMG_5587.jpg

I lost everything in 2016 when we flooded so I started buying M18/M12 Fuel tools. Zero complaints and love the miter saw, I was building cabinets back then so it was fantastic for job sites being cordless.
I'm actually going to buy the table saw soon.

Just finished some bi-fold closet doors that my youngest asked for for her b-day. She wanted mirror for dancing in front of. Not what I had in mind but in the end I think her idea worked out quite nicely.Karri's closet doors.jpg
