Well yesterday I had to re-cord a wood slat blind for one of our large double windows. The builder installed one wide blind to cover the double wide window instead of two "single window" blinds. Yeah the wider single blind blocks more light and probably saved us money, but it is so heavy that the lift cords wear out about every 3-4 years. Actually getting pretty good at doing it! But then I was inspired as we had removed the blinds from two single windows that we no longer needed thanks to our now large oak tree...so I installed them over our double window that gets the most use. Wife loves it...much easier to pull the single blind up and down. And yeah I know we might be a bit different in pulling the blinds up vs just tilting the slats to a horizontal position...but that is what we like...a much cleaner view out the windows.

I've been living with wire storage racks for years, which are a decent solution for a garage. But this year I started doing some cleaning and reorganizing so I could build a workbench. After a few weekends this is what I have now. I'll call it 95% done.

The battle for me is finishing a project before I get started on a new one, but mostly the wife leaves stuff out and says, "I don't know where it goes." Which my response is always, "Right back where you got it from."

Update on the concrete. Today is pour day, they are finishing the control joints now. Pics were taken this morning before I came into the office. Going with top cast #3 washed finish. Should look good one its done.

Yup, the end that is open to the yard will be a door and is framed as such, just haven’t cut out the hole in the siding yet to frame the door with. More updates to come for sure!

Well....it’s certainly not perfect but close enough for my first ever attempt at shingles. Supposed to pour tomorrow, so glad I got it done

Installed one of those round high magnification mirrors on a pivoting arm in the master bath for my wife. Of course the heads of the screws that hold the mounting plate to the wall were too high to allow the unit to sit flush. It is like they do not even test fit anything. But about 7 minutes of grinding with my Dremel tool made it fit perfectly.

@Nowhereman and @alee891 we just got back from a trip and I had the pump off while I was gone. I didn't lose any water while we were gone so I'm either losing it in the plumbing, or on the way down. I do notice some splashing in the circled area, but based on the moss, I'm assume it's always splashed there. I don't really want to dig up the plumbing but it's looking like I might have to unless you have any other suggestions.

If your loss it fast, it has to be under pressure and pump / pipe related.
If it's slow, it runoff that's running somewhere you don't want it to just like in the picture.
Gonna have to lift up a few slate pieces here and there and you'll find it.
When you do, the hard part starts on how to re divert it back to where it's supposed to go without messing up the look.

I would try turning it off for a number of days...see if the water level stabilizes at a given level. Might help you locate where the leak is..ie at that level...though it still could be a pipe underground leaking at that level.

I am seriously considering buying one of those instead of another Weber gas grill when my current grill gives up the ghost. Just look so much easier to clean. Even though we grill a lot, we don't do much in the "gourmet" world of grilling...hamburgers, chicken breast and the occasional steak and pork chop is about it.

I love mine. Especially since you don’t get flare ups with it. There’s not much you can’t cook on it and clean up is easy with a bench knife.

If my utensils were here and we didn’t have crappy weather I would already be doing fried rice and chicken. I have the 36” with the paper towel holder / trash can. Great convenience

Theres sooooo much you can cook on it! Get it! My bbq will almost never be used now lol

at 5 wheelbarrow loads per yard and 15 shovels per wheelbarrow, that’s about 1200 shovels of bark dust. my watch says I walked 8 miles today and never left my yard.

    the results are worth it

One more project struck off the list on operation lipstick pig. I cobbled together this vanity top from leftovers. The faucets were the most expensive part

This is the only before photo I could find; it’s from when I bought the house in 2018. The cabinet was unfinished (and gross) wood and the top was a nasty cultured marble seashell job, circa 1983.
