What home improvement work did you do today?

So countertops got installed today and we couldn’t be happier. I went ahead and put the faucet in but still have to wait for the plumber to do the hook ups. So close to functioning. Still have a little to do to finish up. Tile and appliances need to get here and be installed and a bit of trim work.

 

That looks great - do you find yourself turning the faucet on and off, making water noises and giggling? That's something I would do... Now that I think of it, this is probably why I don't have any cool friends.

 

On the bright side if he screw this up it will all be free. Lol.

wife gets all the credit for the design I just kept saying “cool when’s it gonna be done” I also took care of shipping and receiving.

 

I will as soon as it’s hooked up. My coolest friends are on this site FYI

Got a bunch of the rubber deck tiles from Costco to create some quick and affordable extra living space in the backyard over the gravel. Made a little walking path from the small back patio so we can walk over to the new space barefoot. The open space in the center will have a circular fire table. More pictures to come once I get it “finished”

It’s quartzite I will have to get the name of the color from the wife. Yes mitered edge which really makes a nice difference on the island.

 

Monte blanc is the name of the quartzite

 

Ive worked with stone counters for 12 years. Looks like they did a great job.

That's a nice slab. We looked at that one too and it was a toss up between the Monte blanc and the Minuet. We ended up going with the Minuet.

I think this a case where you measure wrong on custom cabinets you can't return, and try to make the best out of a bad situation. Or I could be completely wrong, and someone just has some really bad designing skills.

 

Maybe the home owner is cross eyed, and when the stand at the sink they are looking straight out the window now?

 

Very true, if I were the contractor I would have told them no, to protect my company and integrity in case they referred me to someone else.
