The family and I are big movie fans., The pandemic shut down all theaters in our area so I decided to build our own theater. Finally finished it. Three rows of elevated seating, 4K with a multi amp 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos sound system.

ah yes. The popcorn machine is a very important piece. A Paragon Contempo 8 oz machine and is very nice. Handy for when the kids have their friends over for movie night, that thing can crank out the popcorn.

Bathroom drywall was sanded smooth and wainscoting installed today. Painters are coming out on Monday to start the interior. Finally getting to the end! Painters hope to be done by Thursday, but probably sooner since most of our furniture isn't in the house. Next Friday new bedroom set gets delivered and then Saturday we move everything back in from storage. At that point there will probably just be a couple small items to finish, but we're nearing the end. Good timing too since I go in for shoulder surgery on 4/13 and won't be able to do much for a while after that.

I already had a Denon 5800 but it’s 15 years old and does not support HDMI or Atmos, but it’s one of the most powerful receivers Denon has made. So I purchased a Denon 4700 to drive the signals, center, surround, and Atmos speakers. I pre-outed the front big speakers to the 5800 to drive the big sound. So now I can control the volume of the center voice and special affects with one receiver and then control the big sound separately with the other.

As for the Atmos speakers, I went with 2 front ceiling reflecting speakers by Klipsch and 2 ceiling mounted SVS Elevation speakers.

Here is a digital rendering of my next garage project. I’m excited to start this one! It’s going to have room for a 40 car collection, car wash bays, office, studio room, gym, restrooms & balconies to overlook the ranch property. 685D33CF-4FD7-4AEF-8D86-C27BA14FA6BA.png

I second the notion of separate thread for a ground up build.

For several reasons, but the main one is showing those that aren't in the construction/trades to see what goes into a ground up and custom build. The structural and mechanical planning that goes into all of it.

I'm guessing that since there's a 30 car garage he'd have a car lift in it. You could show what that takes, and it'd be easier to find all that in one thread.

I'm looking forward to see what a car enthusiast with money and land can have done.

    :)

I’ll verify with my clients to see if they mind I post up pictures of the project as it progresses. If I get their approval, I’ll definitely start a new thread for the build.

There will be two car lifts and one car rack in the garage. I always excited to do large scale projects because of all the planning it takes. It’s challenging at times but very rewarding to see the customers so happy with the finished project.
