Not improvement, doing a repair. Couldn't figure out why the door wouldn't open easily and the door was heavy lifting it myself, dangerous as the weight slamming down will kill a kid or pet. Torsion spring broke, just waiting on new springs and torsion bars.

    Broken-Torsion-Garage-Door-Spring.jpg

If you ever come across it in your garage, it's not a bad DIY

Those springs are under quite a bit of tension. I wouldn't recommend anyone do them themselves....yikes

ok gotcha, maybe not for anyone lol. I'm pretty handy, gutted an investment property 10y ago, do everything in our home by code and follow things to a T, including having friends work with me who are pro contractors. If you don't see anymore posts from me next week, I died ha

Does this count as improvement? Haha. Luckily didn’t go into the neighbors bedroom upstairs.
super shallow roots on this guy though.

They wanted $800 earlier this month just to put it on the ground. I wanna put a 10x12 shed there so yes I saved some money. Won’t even need a stump grinder!

    Well his insurance will....hopefully.

Had some daylight after work today so I leveled a sidewalk that had started sinking due to the last owners diverting water towards it. Poured a little concrete footer for it to sit on and will back fill in a day or 2.

Figure I would give it a try and if it broke would just replace it but it held together.

Once it crosses the property line, it's his problem right?

    :D

Got lucky with minimal damage. Plus side, you both have tons of free fire wood for next winter.

As for me, I added another Ring security camera to the front of my house above my garage so it sees my truck in the driveway.

This was my buddy’s who owns Todd Helton’s old vacation home. He wanted it out of the home gym for his wife’s tanning bed. He offered it to me. I came right down on Sunday, disassembled it, unloaded, got it into the basement and reassembled. This stuff was gold during the summer, and when the gyms were closed, I wish I had this. Now, say no more. Next blizzard we get, I can still get my lift in :muscleflexing::curls::benchpress:

There's some loaded db’s not pictured here, along with an ez-curl bar

I wasn’t maimed lol, installed new springs and roller pins on the garage door. I did my 1/4 turns using torsion bars bought from the same place and stood away from the hardware, lots of the same instructions online. Calibrated across the rod with the wire pulleys on either end. The door’s like butter off the release, should keep the wear tear down on the opener which is already old.
