Finally got to use the firepit last night. The rain finally stopped and we had no tv or internet, so it was the perfect time to break it in. Got a spark screen coming from Amazon for it.

I have a pretty good sized shed with power and stuff that I've decided I want to convert into a workout room. Right now, my workout area is on the screened in porch and it's either burning hot or freezing so I think the shed is the way to go. Problem is that one of the previous owners tore down the original building and put the new one up but they didn't use the entire slab so water has been collecting and seeping into the building. I need to replace the bottom 4 pieces of siding all the way around the building and I'm hoping there isn't too much damage to the framing. Our yard backs to an alley and the city keeps adding dirt to it so it's higher than our yard. It rains and drains to our yard.

I bought a diamond blade along with a worm drive circular saw and started cutting a channel into the cement today. I need to check the slant and if I need to, I'll cut it deeper. I hope to have this project finished in the next few months but we'll see. I want to do it on the cheap but I also want to get off that damn side porch...

I recommend this as well. It minimizes the amount of hair from going down the drain and you do have to clean it out regularly. It does get gunky after awhile so i normally use it for a couple of years and then toss it out and replace with a new one.

What you call a shed looks more like a cottage to me.

It does have a "cottage" look to it but I assure you, the inside is all "shed." Kind of a "Dude looks like a Lady" thing going on but a shed. The interior is all peg board and studs. And rats.

Kitchen backsplash is almost finished. A few more of the pencil border trim pieces need to be installed and everything needs to be grouted. Will be completed tomorrow.

    The Dirty T

I remember those fun times from when we re-did our whole house, including conversations like this:

Me- Hey, where are my underwear?
    Her- In your underwear drawer.
Me- OK, where is my underwear drawer?
Her- In the dresser in the garage of course.
    Me- Of course.

It's been challenging for sure. If everyone would come out and work full days and not disappear we probably would have been done a month ago. I stepped in a few times to keep things moving along, but there is only so much I can do.

Backsplash was finished today. Hoping to get paint and appliances in soon. I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

Removed and closed up a door way to a spare bedroom that is turning into the closet for the master, as the old closet is being used to extend the master bath.

Yeah, it can be a little busy if up very close, but from a normal distance it ties in nicely.

    I love nailing it though.

    :D

So after laying down all that sod the past few weeks there's been a nocturnal critter, most likely a skunk that I caught on a wildlife camera, that decided to pull up a bunch of it last night. All of the sod around my firepit, some of it next to the fence, one of them right in the middle and even the stuff up against the house I laid down about a month ago. And then it got into my patio flowerbed.:mad:

So I went to the Home Despot and got some Critter Ridder in the granular and spray form. Now my backyard smells like cayenne peppers. https://www.solutionsstores.com/cri...HzVcKd_Ehnj7lee7eyrlxk9RoCJasQAvD_BwE#156=985

I'll let you guys know how it works out.

Shed from Costco? I built one of their Limetime sheds about 2 years ago. Nice units.

Going through this myself now, 26 year old 100k btu American standard 90% unit still kicking but barely hanging on short cycling and blower motor going out, 3 ton AC slow leak. Complete system replacement with more properly sized 80k btu Heil 96% 3 ton quoted at $5800 so I jumped on that! Similar system second quote $10k but only $8k with "free furnace discount"! lol.

I think I found the source of my cold room (return 3) so I'm going to see what they can do to fix this fuster cluck, even at an increased cost over the quote I would pay to have this done right and hopefully let my new system breathe better. Any ideas on how to put 2x 8" and 2x 12" (or 14"?) returns down between the ceiling rafters better than this?

1- main living area large return short flex run
2- master bedroom large return long flex run
3- second bedroom (coldest room in the house) small return long flex run
4- 3rd bedroom/office small return long flex run
