    Most likely perennial rye.

If I was retired it would be wine grapes like some of my neighbors. Unfortunately I don’t have time for that right now. 12 more years and the kids will be out of the house - maybe I’ll have more time then. LOL

Through a portion of my business I work with a lot of wineries and wine makers through out the WA and OR wine country.
It’s very tempting! My neighbors down the road will help with knowledge too - but they are retired.
And boy, they sure work full time as a winery. They have 4X the property I do though.

We put a finishing touch on the shed today. My wife's cousin makes these flags as a little side business. He did a great job on this one. Looks great on this wall!

Vinyl Plank flooring being installed in my living room and hall. Hate the panelling but it'll stay for now

Not much work on my shop until today. Been too busy lately, but the recent rain put my ass in gear! LOL
Have a few walls built, picked up the windows today, and the door. Hopefully it starts moving quicker - because around here one it starts raining it doesn’t stop for 8 months LOL

Since my patio furniture is in the shed for the storm I decided to repair two damaged chairs. My new slings came in last week. I won't go through the measuring process, there's plenty of websites that do that.
    The old chair.
    20180913_181542.jpg
First you split the old sling with a razor knife.
    20180913_181836.jpg
Next you remove the caps and pull out the slings. This was a bitch. Way too late I figured out that some silicon spray or soapy water as lubricant helps a lot.
    20180913_184959.jpg
Now you have a beer and a smoke because you're a sweaty mess and your boxers riding up and sticky.
Loosen one arm and remove the other.
    20180913_185241.jpg
    20180913_185248.jpg
Insert the new sling into the removed part first and the into the part still in place. You have to pull it through especially in the curves.
    20180913_190812.jpg
Attach the removed side and tighten. The tighten the loose side. Using your $6 harbor freight bar clamp/spreader insert the tension bar that I forgot to mention comes out when you remove the sides. As a side note, this is the first harbor freight tool that I've ever bought and it will be the last. I'll get a pipe clamp that reverses for the rest of the chairs.
    20180913_192335.jpg
Next snip off the excess splines, cut them flush, and put the caps back on.
    20180913_192521.jpg
Sit in your like new chair and have another beer.
    20180913_192950.jpg
The slings were about $45 each including shipping. If I recall correctly, the chairs were $300 each 10+ years ago, so not a bad investment of a few hours.

In the next few weeks I'm building a rough sawn pine, firewood shed off the maple sugar shack. Got pylons poured a while back and have just been working on getting wood milled and materials together. It's a tight budget build 10x16 foot open lean too. Will have a metal roof, pressure treated floor but fresh cut pine for the rest of it.

What’s your target budget out that way for something like that? I originally priced a tractor/wood shed lean-to on a budget ($3K, 16x30), which then turned into my 30x40 super budget shop which hopefully stays around $11K (originally was $8K before doing concrete floor)
Is pine local in CT? 4x4 PT for posts? Why PT floor vs gravel? Sounds like yours will be nice :)

My budget is about $800. Im Bartering syrup for some pine, 10 - 8' 4x4 posts and 4- 16' 2x8 rafters. Those will be rough sawn (local pine, local like a tree from my yard) The floor will be some still good 2x8 PT and 5/4" decking that I got from a deck I tore down this summer with this in mind. Those 2x8 joists will span two 8 foot spans. one end tied into the current barn and other end resting on 8x8 PT beam I acquired for free which will sit on the concrete piers I poured, and another 8 feet to another 8x8 beam. I also will use pallet wood for bracing which is free and will fit the look. We chose to have a floor to keep the wood up above the 1-3 feet of snow we get here at any given time. Hard to explain but I'm my head it seems right lol

Good budget! Ha! That’s sweet! (pun intended):D
Repurposed the deck, good call
That makes sense on the floor, we get snow around here but it doesn’t stick around - makes sense!

OMG - what a pain in the ass lol. Today we lifted two 10x40 ft walls and one 10x30 ft wall.
Finally getting somewhere. There is two of us building it - thankfully not solo.

Kind of. I originally posted on AR15.com, and I used a lot of their ideas in my build. I’ve had many people ask but I’ve never compiled all the info together in one place.
This thread was when I was almost finished. I never posted many pics.
    https://www.ar15.com/forums/General...ilt-thanks-ARF-few-Q-s-left/5-1838341/?page=3

In that thread is a link to my original thread.
I’ve wanted to throw everything together in one place so I’d have a references later down the road, but I haven’t yet.
My screen name is BlackTaco on there by the way.

Thanks. They just replaced a slab of concrete (warranty) so their was rock chips, and pieces of concrete everywhere. Let it cure then decided to just pressure wash the entire garage before winter is here.

    Flux capacitor!
Garage is looking great Sean! Next time you want to pressure wash your concrete looking into one of these attachments. They are amazing!!!! They will do a better cleaning job and they won’t put the intense pressure on the concrete at once and blow out spots of the concrete. They also do a better job. They sell for around $60-$90. But you can rent ones that are worth $300-$700 for a day as well. They also make the job a lot faster and less mess.

This photo is an accurate representation of what they do to dirty concrete.

I built this glass solarium addition back in 2014. Today I had my window tinters installing solar film on the glass roof and glass walls. It’s all triple pain low e glass. The clients like to keep it at about 65 degrees in the summer. The solar film I’m using runs $2k per roll!! Its amazing stuff but outrageously expensive because of the materials inside the film without sacrificing hardly any light. You can hardly tell the tint is there but it’s blocking over 90% of the UV rays.

I’ll never forget the original crystal chandelier that was hung on this solarium was larger than the one shown now. It weight over 350lbs hung and had over 1,200 pieces of hand cut crystal made over seas. The whole structure was engineered for the extra weight. 42B93EAC-EA72-4E97-8085-1CC143274BAC.jpg

Ditto!! These are badass, and you stay dry! When I acid stained my garage floor it worked perfect - chemicals didn’t go flying all over.
Also works great on your driveway/patios. Waaaay quicker. I think I have a Craftsman one that was $80-$90

    That’s funny :) I haven’t been on in a while. ARFcom kicks ass :)
