If it’s a quality tile and the mortar has full coverage with no voids under the tile, you shouldn’t have any issue. I’ve dropped pots and pans on mine along with many other things and haven’t had anything chip yet

The only thing my kids did to mess up tile is sharpies. That stuff is rough on anything

Yeah sharpies are brutal. Nail polish remover can work, but it’s hit or miss

All cosmetic so far see my posts in 2nd gen Black out chrome in progress….
Short of taking a hammer to tile, the only reason there would be an issue is from poor workmanship putting the tile in. If not seated well it could have weak points and crack or break. Tile products these days are very strong even the cheaper box store stuff. I did my own tile years ago with 16” x 16” and no issues

Helped the neighbor some more with his shop. It was misty/drizzly and COLD today... we were wet pretty much from the word go. But we got another 1/3 of the roof on and got fascia and gable trim on one end as well. We’re through the hardest side (uneven ground, tree limbs in the way of the manlift, etc) and are getting into a rhythm now.

Well, he and his wife DID come over and help us a lot with our cabinet install. And he’s going to be taking the old cabinets (currently on my front porch) just as soon as his shop is dried in. So the more I help, the sooner I get my porch back!

DE55C22A-3292-41F3-B4DA-A0AA5BBA6DD0.jpg The front loader has been making a racket as of late, so I finally pulled it and opened it up. It’s a kenmore 110.47701800, at first glance and inspection it appears to be the rear bearings/seals. Briefly looked up some replacement videos; looks within my abilities. So I called one of the local places and the girl seemed to have a hard time finding a bearing “kit” could only find the entire rear drum that includes the bearings 400$+
So I looked up that drum, which lead me to another video talking about the spider bracket breaking from known defect, but Stainless drum has lifetime warranty. Problem is; it can only be diagnosed and repaired by a “certified” technician...... and that doesn’t cover the rear tub part or labor.
I didn’t know to check for the spider bracket yesterday, but I’m sure that has failed also and is what ls causing the bearing issue. So I guess I’ll roll the dice, start doing smaller loads, and start saving for a new machine.
Only plus side I see; I might rip the machine down anyways and snag the stainless drum for a fire pit!

I’ve had to do many free standing faucets for clients that want claw foot tubs. Is this for new construction or a remodel? Is this for an existing concrete slab?

Are wanting to do something similar to this style of free standing faucet?

Remodel existing slab. We are doing a more contemporary look and the tub doesn’t have feet but you get the idea.

One of the biggest challenges is making sure your plumbing lines are all in the exact placement for the fixture. Also make sure your fixture will be secured to the slab correctly. Any specs on the faucet or picture of the project?

Just when I thought I was done with the front yard, it pulls me back in. ARRRRGH!

So the main problem with the front sprinklers was there wasn’t enough water pressure to get the sprinkler heads to pop up and function normally. I deleted three from the front but there were four in the backyard that were tied into that same line. Stupid thing to do right? Right. So I dug up the line in the back where I thought it was. Right next to another sprinkler on a different line. Bingo. It was exactly where I thought it was and how they ran that line. So I capped the line from the front and tied the other four heads into the other line which only has three heads on it.

    1B6694F0-1A81-4C58-95B0-C87929870D98.jpg

This helped the pressure in the front yard a lot. But that revealed a new problem. Apparently there is a broken sprinkler head underneath the pavers I just set back in place the other day. They were put in by the realtor when we bought the house. Guess he didn’t see it.

Looks a lot like the clawfoot tub and faucet we installed when we built our house. Damn they are expensive...
