Sparky came over today and added my 60-amp sub panel in the garage. Air compressor plug cord will run overtop the door along the wall to the plug.
    Next I’ll add a breaker and plug for a 220 welder :)

Cost for parts and labor? PM if needed. I got a 220 outlet in my garage but I plan on adding A/C to my house eventually and I think I have to upgrade my panel for that. Just trying to get an idea of $$. Thanks.

I got 66’ of panel to panel cable, the 60 amp panel, the two plug ends and conduit. Plus, I got him to add another exterior plug on the corner of the house near our sheds. All installed for $1100 cad :hattip:

Trying to find a water leak that has created a mess in an upstairs vanity cabinet. House plumbing looks fine. Found what looks like the faucet could have been leaking. Thoughts?

Is it a slow leak and just spreading over to the vanity? How old is the faucet?

The hard water may have caused a pin hole leak to start over time

Yes, very slow, cabinet with mdf has been soaking it up causing to deform.

Faucet original Moen builder grade, about 14 years old.

Ya turn the water off for the faucet until you replace it. Moen is a good brand and what our Lord @1UPPER recommends IIRC. We have all Moen in ours

Looks like the valve seat on the hot side was leaking by- on that style faucet it would leak down inside and cause exactly what you’re seeing. You don’t notice it because the water doesn’t obviously leak all over the counter top and instead just slowly makes a mess down inside.

Hot tends to go first because it’s used probably 9x more than the cold valve when you’re washing hands, etc.

Pretty sure it’s the faucet. You can see the corrosion coming down the copper line. Make sure to change your supply lines also.

Yep. Honestly I would go the extra mile and do the angle stops while in the cabinet. 14 years is a pretty good amount of time.

    Gorgeous

those can be a bitch to change. Have to shut off house water, drain, etc. a lot depends on the age, quality, and original construction materials of the house. My house is 15yr old and all copper piping and my angle stops all look good as new. But we installed high quality ones when be built it because I didn’t ever want to have to replace them.

Yes that’s correct. Casey is correct, they can be a pain. But if you have some skills, and your sink is already out (from your pic), it’s not crazy. Turning off the water and draining the whole house depending on if you have a two story and the bath is on the bottom floor sucks. But sometimes, after messing with a 14 year old valve (even simply turning on/off) will create it’s own leak. And you won’t know until everything is assembled.

I would just do the faucet and supply likes and monitor it. Just don’t deal the faucet in with caulking for a bit to watch it.
