Started building a 8x12 wooden shed, I’ve done carpentry all my life and I suck at it so I don’t know what I was thinking.. I did buy a precut kit :)

We had a fenced off area for the garbage cans with a nice slab so I decided to demo and place it there. Pain in the ass it wasn’t level 4” pitch for drainage.

Managed to get the sill, floor frame and floor installed. It’s dead nuts level and I’m very happy I’m just a little out of square( best outcome I’ve ever had).

Benedict the site foreman was on my ass all weekend lol

Next weekend goals are to get the walls framed and hopefully installed.

He’s a pretty awesome cat and only about 12 weeks his fur is incredibly soft!, we think he might be Maine coon. He’s was my daughter’s graduation gift. My dog will never hang with me when working, but Ben is all in even with power tools :) Going to miss my grandson when they move out. :(

Started putting up some Husky 9ft heavy duty rack in the shop, should be about 60ft worth. And picked up a new ZeroTurn Husky mower. Man they are badass!!! Mowed the lawn the complete opposite direction of the old rider, just because I could

Well not my repair but most important for wife. When you live where a cell phone might work for a phone call only if you are outside and the internet and home phone shit the bed for 3 days it's a big deal. Had to replace wire from house to box on highway. I was guys 3rd longest wire pull ever. That's the AT&T van at the end of the wire.

Bought a house and moved in about a week ago. The backyard was a mess. The house was vacant for quite a while which led to a plumbing problem. Long story short, plumber needed to come snake the main line.

Today I had work done in the backyard. Years of unkept vegetation had taken over.

The shed is 16' x 8' and is in desperate need of a new roof. So I'll do that myself when I can. I'll add some rain gutters and make a water collection system. Ya know, for the 6 days a year it rains in southern California.

Another thing, according to the home insurance, because of the age, location and weird zoning at the time, the house is considered a ranch. So we're gonna paint it red and do some white trim around it. That way I'll have a barn on my ranch. :D

Added some solar lights to the back fencing area. Lights are smaller than I expected, but Gets the job done. I’ll try and get pictures later this evening.

Home Depot has made a lot of money off me this month.

Got some solar lights for the front walkway, hung a light in the garage, another will be done tomorrow (traded a mini fridge with a friend for them) Started a soffit in the garage to cover some dryer exhaust duct that's ran on the ground. The old stuff was smashed so that got replaced last weekend. The soffit will make for some usable shelf space as well. I got the lumber from work. It was just gonna be thrown out anyways. Being in construction has it's advantages sometimes. Pics later.

Finally got a chance to work on the pool deck i built about 20 years ago and really haven't done anything to since. :eek2: I was pretty sure the pressure treated decking i used back then needed to be replaced due to all the cracks. Decided to try the Behr DeckOver, and all i can say is that this stuff is amazing. It comes in three textures and is pretty thick to fill all the imperfections, and after just one coat by hand to fill the cracks it looks great. Second coat goes on with their special roller to give it a no-slip texture finish. Not sure about the durability, but so far very impressed.IMG_0919.jpg IMG_0923.jpg IMG_0927.jpg IMG_0925.jpg IMG_0933.jpg

Got the soffit turned shelf done in the garage. I turned it into the “Clean Corner”. Wet dry vac, brooms, cleaning supplies cabinet, paper towels etc. I hung the another light and mounted a fire extinguisher near the door so it could be easily accessible.

Put in a little garden around the deck. The humidity got the better of my patience however.

Took the better part of 4 days but we're pretty much done.

    From this
    IMG_20200618_153020.jpg

    To this
    IMG_20200621_181250.jpg

8ft tall and sloped to 7 in the back. Ran 40 feet of conduit with 12 gauge wire, added a switched outlet for lighting, put a gutter on the low side so rain doesn't blow in, and mounted the swing to the framing to free up some space.
We're still waiting for one more set of lights and I have to get some heavy hooks to mount the hammock.

That’s a solid coop!! Nice work!
I’ve been debating one for a few years now, but all of our friends have quality birds/eggs and basically give us a few dozen free eggs a week. The only downfall is a 5 minute detour on the way home once a week to grab them.
There’s something about DIY that feels more satisfying though.

My Father’s Day - Full of suck! LMAO!!!

I needed to get shit done though. This is the only day I have the excuse to devote every second of the day to whatever I wanted. Unfortunately, it was our final bed around the hot tub we need to finish LOL.

We’re having a big 4th of July Party, hoping to have it finished by then.
Brought in 6 yards of dirt today and 1500 lbs of slate/rock. A few other boulders yesterday. Picking up trees tomorrow.
Still need a dump truck of river rock delivered.

I am a gas pipeline technician and our #1 emergency calls are do-it-yourselfers. I understand not wanting to spend the money but please call the gas company, or digsafe at the very least as a CYA. If you fuck something up, or anything fails in the future and happens to someone else (sell the home) we have records, they wont show, the bills will be sent to you. Unless youre that ‘wont happen to me/i know what im doing’ type of person. I may be a tad higher strung tho, I work with a 1400psi 24” pipeline and our customers are mills and power companies compared to the 30psi 1/2” house lines..

Not that anyone listens to me, not my pipeline, cant hurt to ask though.

Thanks! They basically become pets - with the added bonus of some eggs. They definitely have individual, unique personalities - pretty cool little creatures. Have fun with the bed (my least favorite work). Nice Kubota!

Yep, our friends name theirs and they let them run around their property. I’m also a little worried because we have a true bird dog, that is constantly hunting vermin/birds on our property. And a cat that does the same. Not sure how they’d do with chickens lol.

Thanks! I’ll be working on the bed again tonight. :annoyed:

Replaced the tank valve screws / gaskets with a new one as it was leaking (only 2 years old, but our hard water )

Hung up a laundry rack (?) at the wife’s request
