Wifey wanted a wine rack and something to hang her apron on so a quick trip to lowes (which was packed where people had to park on the curbs and street "social distancing" lol) and while at lowes she also decided that she wanted to refinish the coffee table. So I added that to my Saturday list as well. All pretty easy tasks, plus i got to use my new nail gun and she threw in a 6 pack of miller lite so I wasn't complaining. all turned out pretty well! now on down the list to remodeling my moms kitchen and fireplace as a birthday/Mothers day present.

These are oblong milk crates, about 22 inches. Allows 5 32oz bottles to be shelved and hang bottles from it.

I couldn't imagine paying $12 per speed rail or $250 for a trailer shelf that holds half the amount of bottles mine will.

    Milk crates ftw.

Garage epoxied the 6x10. Giving it a day then installing my DIY shelves.

Eventually I'll paint the walls, but not a necessity at the current time.

May I ask, what did that run ya cost wise for the driveway strips? Do it yourself or have someone do? I’m looking to do similar soon, but don’t want them to rip me off.

I'm in the planning stagee of turning this section of fence into a gate, which would swing inward towards wherr the pic. I'm thinking of putting 4 hinges on the post to the right and reinforcing where they'll attach to the swinging portion. Then basically cut the thing loose and trim it so it swings.

I think splitting down the middle would be better in the long run. That's a lot of weight to hang off of one post and 4 hinges.

Not a bad idea. I hadn't thought of that. I was somewhat concerned about the weight being cantilevered on the hinges. The only issue with the dual doors is that the one on the left won't open due to the slope.

I'm about to tackle a home improvement job in the coming week(s), does that count for me to post here? I promise I'll post pics when I'm done.
Vinyl siding....It's been a staggered process as design elements have revealed themselves. I am now moving to the area around my attached garage.
My question is about the drip cap (flashing) above the overhead door. Currently there is what I believe is aluminum. My supplier has aluminum (.019) or color matched vinyl drip cap? Which would you recommend and why?

    Thanks for your expertise!

    Flux capacitor!
There are different size drip caps. If your just doing a small drop cap to cover the very top of the garage door you shouldn’t see much of it. I’m more familiar with the aluminum drip cap in my area as vinyl isn’t used much due to the high temperatures. If your doing vinyl siding why wouldn’t you elect to use the color matched drip cap? What did you supplier recommend for your situation?

The length of garage door opening, to include the face trim, is 17'. I agree that is 99.9% functional. I'm just wondering if one material is preferred over the other.
I could get color matched vinyl drip cap, but like you said it's mostly covered by the board and baton vinyl once installed. My supplier basically shrugged his shoulders and said they were basically the same. My initial hesitation with the vinyl drip cap is that if it were to ever become brittle and a piece were break off the front edge, I'd have to remove siding to replace it. On the other hand aluminum can be easily bent and deformed. I guess neither are really likely. Analysis paralysis.

Just a couple sneak peaks of some of my progress for my large equestrian project. The last few months have gone by so fast! Those cast iron front doors are 12’x12’. I love to see the exposed Doug Fur timber trusses. F4A5C86A-3BB9-41AD-A537-47117ABB85B7.jpg
