6112’s were on backorder at 4wheelparts, didn’t wanna wait so I just got 5100’s all around. Top setting and a 1” block on the back. Always nice saving money. Also put on the spidertracks wheel spacers. 1.25”

Dunno what to do next, can’t afford a supercharger. ‍♂️

I think the 61’s are re-buildable and larger diameter shock; 5100’s are not.

I'm not following. Maybe a pic from farther away? What's an "ECM"? and is it something that could be fixed for real under warrantee? Looks like you're using a clamp to stop vibration?

Thanks. So then, if the rest of us don't have this problem, seems like a warranty fix is appropriate-? :notsure:

The ECM (engine control module) is the brains/electronics for the tuck. If you take the panel off from under the glove box you will see the ECM. On the opposite side in the engine bay two large connectors attach to the unit. During acceleration with a little load at around 2K RPM's the box makes a tinny buzzing sound. It's not the metal box vibrating on the firewall, but actually inside the unit. Applying pressure on the unit (via the C clamp) has cut down the buzzing. However... after driving over a day the C clamp got a little loose and the buzzing came back. I went up underneath and re-adjusted/tightened down the clamp last night when I got home. I've already called my dealer and told him I'll be making an appt to get it replaced. The dealer is a 4 hour round trip for me... so I'm not going there until they have one to replace it with. There is another thread with a lot of others having the same issue:

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/humming-rattle-in-cab-when-rpm-1800-2000.20373/

I held my phone down by the passenger footwell and modulated the accelerator (no other cars were around me...) so you can hear the buzzing when on gas.. .and then it goes away off gas. Driving me nuts. I don't even have 200 miles on the truck yet.

    https://photos.app.goo.gl/JxiTAdHhazQkOCIr2

Sorry... I've not uploaded video and this was the easiest way I could do it. That clip you will hear the buzzing.

Oh, yeah, loud and clear. And irritating. Glad you were able to record it and get the dealer to order it in before you make that trip.

I think there is a TSB for this, not 100% sure though. Glad mine doesn't do that, would drive me nuts, hopefully you get it squared away.

South Hills very close to Washington County. And there are closer dealers to me, but I've purchased 4 trucks (2XT4R's, Tacoma and Tundra) from the same sales guy. He's always done good by me so I'd rather have someone I trust (and his pricing is in-line with others) than saving a few bucks and having no relationship other than the cheapest price.

Installed the AFE dry filter last weekend and I’m pretty happy with it. It’s not a huge difference but it does feel like the engine can breathe easier. It seems like it holds the lower gears for a second longer before shifting when I have to get on the accelerator. The herky jerky constant searching for gears seems smoothed out slightly as well. Hope it’s not the placebo effect but I like the results!

Ya same here. Installed mine last year and still didn’t like the shifting of the trans. Bought a bully Dog and changed the shifting parameters so much better now. Plus I like manual shifting for better performance I like cruising the back roads in 4th gear, I only use 6th on freeway.

What vinyl did you use? Was it pre-cut or did you just wrap and cut yourself?

5100's do not have the coils. The 6112's do and are a 2.5" diameter where the 5100's are a 2" diameter. The 6112's are also a digressive valved shock. (The faster you go, the softer the shock becomes.)
