Back from camping… finally had all I needed to mount my EcoFlow Alternator Charger.

BUT: I need to rethink the location. I’m planning on using a platform and you have to manually switch the Alternator Charger on, which is pretty much inaccessible with this layout…

Just wrapped a 1600 mile road trip from Sarasota, FL to Duck, NC and back. My 24 platinum hybrid now has 17k miles. We were loaded up with luggage for 4, tons of beach gear, and plenty of beer. This was the second time we made this trip in the tundra but the first with Weld 20x9 +20 wheels, SL285/60 Toyo OC AT3 tires, and RC N3 2" leveling struts.

Really went well, couldn't have asked for better. Mostly drove between 80-90mph with some slower stretches obv. Got 17mpg for the entire trip. Ride was smooth even at 95mph. Drove one nice, long stretch just over 400 miles when everyone was sleeping. It's just a fantastic road trip vehicle. The wife was happy, the kids were chillin on ipads, and I just really like driving the truck so it was great. I love having a badass truck that still has a refined, smooth ride at high speeds in the highway.

Had to snap a pic at one of the several chick fil as we stopped at.

Had one in my 4R. Never had to turn it on manually. It stayed on with ignition off. I was able to control functions with the app.

Oh, I need to look into that more. I just don’t want my Alternator Charger sucking my battery dry and I think it switches off automatically at a certain voltage, which is generally when the engine is off?!

Hence, I wonder whether you always were pulling from the battery no matter the voltage of the car battery?!

Correct. You can set the voltage threshold where it stops pulling from the starter battery. You can also reverse charge. This will use your EcoFlow battery to boost your starter battery if necessary. It’s a pretty smart solution that gives some of the functionality of a dual battery isolated system.

I took a short trip from Richmond VA to Black Mountain NC and back for the weekend. Averaged 21.4 mpg and the truck rode great! Every time I tale a road trip in this truck I fall in love with it all over again.

This is what I did, I set the charge voltage so that it doesn’t charge when the engine is off. This at least doesn’t allow me to connect to the Alternator Charger.

just did a round trip of about 400 miles with stretches of heavy traffic and open driving. (california - temecula to santa barbara) truck is pretty much stock 23 trdor and was getting about 19mpg. i thought all the traffic was going to tank my mpg but was pleasantly surprised.

Yep, mine has a very mild lift and 35's and my total average mileage stays at 13.9 mpg. Mixed city/highway.

yeah, was thinking about that. while i will level the fron with 5100 or 6112's, i don't think i'm going up to 35's. right now i think 275/70/18, but 295/70/8 sure do look good.

Just got back from the Keys and I had pretty much the exact same experience, except I drive slower! I don’t go much over 70, and when I pulled back in tonight the gauge said 17.7 mpg. 305/55/20’s on Fuel +1’s and a 3/1 lift. 13k miles. Had lunch today at Chick-fil-A as well. Now it needs a bath!
