WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO YOUR 3RD GEN TUNDRA TODAY?

Also got my power bed step (straight outta China) hooked up and gotta say I was nervous but it looks and works flawlessly! Again, thankful for this forum…wouldn’t have been able to tackle this project without the writeup!

I have the 3in factory lift, and I'd say it's a rougher ride than the 2017 tacoma off road I traded in. To me it's not bad, and rides like a truck. Nothing too crazy. as for paying MSRP, that's not a good deal. I got my 2025 Limited Off Road for $4,717 below MSRP.

You got it! This is the thread I followed (https://www.tundras.com/threads/trd-pro-light-bar-switch-p-n.116422/page-2)...KClav has a very detailed writeup you can download. One thing that was not in his writeup, but discussed later in the thread, is the correct wiring to ensure the OEM switch dims correctly when using the dim function...I followed those instructions and can confirm that the switch dims perfectly. Also- search this item (90980-12614) on AliExpress to buy the appropriate switch harness so you don't need to build your own...saves a ton of time/effort and cost less than $7 shipped from China. PM me if you have any questions, happy to help.

 

I'm on the schedule to get PPF and ceramic done to my WCP in a couple weeks...what are they charging down by you for this package? I am doing the same exact PPF coverage, but using Suntek Ultra and the coating will be Gtechniq EXO and it's $3100...seems crazy but I had this on my last 3 cars and they looked brand new when I sold them 5 years later..

I drove it for the first time since I brought it home from the dealer last week. Went straight to the tire shop for new wheels and tires. In the last week I also removed the black TUNDRA from the tailgate, removed the Predator running boards and installed a Bulletpoint dash mount.

 

Are you doing a cold air intake with the new filter?

 

I did my Xpel tint in Dallas. "TRITEK window tint". Even had front part of my house done by them.

 

Tritek did my window tint when I picked up my truck. I guess I could drive back over for the PPF. Do you have any pics? Especially the edges and under edge of hood?

No PPF done on my Tundra. Only tint.

How's the road noise?

 

This makes me want to remove my steps but my kids need them. Just a few more years lol

 

I've got a set of Duratracs on my Tundra with about 4k on them so far - really smooth and quiet.... they look great and balanced out with min weight. I'm running 295/70/18's.

 

I used a broker for the first time and got $9k under Sticker for my Platinum. This truck looks great!

 

These are the new RT version of the Duratracs. I've only got a few around town miles on them. I've got 180k on my Gen 2.5 with Duratracs. Another 135k on a Titan. Noise is not too bad when new. I rotate at every 5k oil change. I just changed a set that had 50k miles. So loud I almost couldn't talk on the phone at 70 mph.

Did you find the TRD switch PN for 25?

 

This is the one that I used:
PT45A-34220-AA Tun Switch Led Illumination $17.30

 

That PN illuminates light blue.

 

Correct, and you're right...it is def a different color than the surrounding switches... you saying they made a new switch with the color matching for 25? You're going to make me buy a new one if that is the case!

 

Well i did purchase new PT45A-35240-TH and was upset that I received the 22-24 part.

 

I would be too...now I am going to look into grabbing one because it would be nice to have everything match. I see both part numbers available from the place I order from (Grieco Toyota Parts) and I am going to give it a shot

 

Could be that old part was just repackaged in new box. Please share if they ship the right part.

 

PRO grille swap and color matched surrounds for my ‘23 Platinum. Added the vent lights, OEM marker lights+ Rave harness, and the hood vents with inserts and custom vinyl from @theTupper.

Did everything myself (except paint). If anyone is considering the same, happy to share some learnings!
