Fancy new box came packed inside a flat rate box haha... Apparently only certain kits are coming in the fancy box, according to a recent FB comment from them... Not sure why...

haha yessir... I just ran to Harbor Freight and grabbed a new jack and stands... Will be doing the install the pauper's way...

 

have had this one a few years now, best jack ive ever owned

 

good to hear... I went in with the intent on that exact model, but they have a coupon right now that brings the 4 ton down to just $10 more, so I grabbed that one... Opted for 6 ton stands for good measure...

 

Debadged and 2inch Superlift level kit installed. Wheels and tires tomorrow! 20inch TRD OR wheels and tires (601 miles) going up for sale (cant post in the for sale section until I have been on the board for 30 days)

I got the same one in orange and I totally agree

 

Deleted the chrome handles on the Tundy. Went with a matte black vinyl wrap. I like the matte on gloss look, personally. It ties in well with the rest of the truck since there are so many other gloss + matte accents throughout. I'll let you decide though.




Also deleted the TRD Offroad bedside decal and went with a more appropriate, 'Evergreen Offroad' decal.

 

nice… was your bedside decal a pain like everyone else’s? I’ve been putting mine off…

 

For only having been on the truck for ~3 months, I thought it would've come off a bit cleaner. It took some time and some goo-gone but they eventually worked themselves off.

Installed rear usb outlets for SR5. Cost around $50. Took about an hour to do.

 

Awesome. I finally got all the parts for mine. Plan to do it this weekend. Anything to watch out for?

 

Everything came apart pretty easy. Only thing is the tiny clips that are on all panel and trim pieces that holds them on. One of the clips fell off the console box ornament as I was removing it and fell into the console, luckily I saw where it went and I could reach for it. Just keep an eye on them when pulling the stuff off and not just yanking stuff apart. Don't want to create any rattling from missing clips.

how hard would it be to use something like this to remove the bolt heads or would it even work? are the bolts hardened enough to resist or make it a long tedious task to nullify the attempt?

 

i would think it would be pretty hard with the oscillating tool, those things don't really cut metal the greatest for one, i would think as soon as you touched it to the bolt head it would make a god awful racket with the vibrations that it makes

one would assume the bolts are hardened, but i highly doubt it, looks like just a standard button head Allen bolt that's about 4 inches long on the back ones, the 2 front are shorter and screw into the frame of the truck

if i was really concerned with it, i would purchase some of the rock dome things that other people put on

 

got the windows tinted and removed the 4x4 stickers to make room for bed decal when it gets here.
20% ceramic on fronts to match rears and 70 on windshield, $400 and change, instantly noticeable difference in heat rejection, its awesome

 

looks great man… how hard was your beside sticker to remove? A pain in the ass like all the other reports?

 

I watched as the shop took my bedside decals off and it literally took like 90 seconds with a heat gun.

 

that is the worst damn sticker ever, i put a couple good scratches in mine, but i was being impatient and wanted it done as it was hot as hell yesterday
im sure heat gun/ blow dryer and taking time would have made it come up just slightly easier

• BD Squadron Pro ditch lights
• Xpel Stealth PPF wrap
• “Mystery” roof rack from very reputable company (coming soon. Still being prototyped)
• Mid-height bed rack from same company
• R4T rock lights
• Few minor interior updates including black steering wheel cover badge, “TRD START STOP” push-to-start button (looks better than OEM IMO)
• Replacement key fobs (red with black screws)
• Carryover overlanding gear from my taco (MaxTrax, pelicans, rotopax, recovery equipment, camping equipment, bike racks, etc)

Super stoked for this build.

Using the Rock Dome bolt head protectors are the way to go.

Put Toyo Open Country M/T 35 12.5R18s on the OEM wheels without touching anything besides removing the front mud flaps. I’m waiting on my westcott designs lift kit but I’m liking how it looks at this height now
