NYTOP exhaust dump


This one took the most time. I wanted to mount my fridge slide and tilt but didn't want to drill into the Deckd box. I fabricated the robust bracket from a 1/4" flat bar, angle iron, and 3/4" square tube. It's attached to a 3/4" plywood sheet coated in a rattle can bed liner. I can take it out in a few minutes to have the full bed when needed. I may need to reinforce the passenger side rear corner as the plywood wants to flex when fully tilted, but it is good for now while I put it through its paces.

 

How was the NYTOP dump tip install? Mine arrived this weekend and it’s on my growing list of things to do on my new Tundra. Any change in exhaust sound? TIA

 

It was pretty easy. Prepare to cut the factory part in half where it goes over the axle if you are lazy and don't want to jack the back end up A little louder and more aggressive on cold start. A little "rumble" or drone in cab but not in an annoying way. Sounds better to me but not a huge change, which I am glad for.

 

Received store credit towards the purchase of a new one and get to keep this one. If anyone is interested let me know.

 

i've got the nytop axle dump waiting to go on when the weather clears, how was removing the oem axle back? did you have to jack up the drivers side, or just lower the spare? thanks.

 

So, are you selling or giving away the damaged one they gave you full credit for?

 

Just threw on the Go-Rhino RB20 Slim side step rails. I really did not want rails to take away from the overall truck, but be super functional. So far, I am super happy with them and the look.

 

I'f I had lowered the spare I wouldn't have had to cut. but I didn't wanna mess with a jack or the spare so once it was loose, I cut it near the big bend with an angle grinder.

 

I think you succeeded in your mission - looks great on your truck. Those tires look mean, what are they?

Uh oh. We've seen this before with a guy trying to sell some MESO lights (I think?) that were defective and replaced by the company and it wasn't pretty. Most guys don't think it is very ethical to sell parts you didn't pay for.

You are correct, everyone here, myself included, has opinions. There's no back-and-forth needed. *IMO* (there it is again!), it's a douchebag move to sell a damaged item you received for free in order to offset the cost you originally and willingly paid for it. The company did right by you....why not pay if forward and GIVE the thing to someone?

 

What kind of modifications did you have to do to get the Raptor lights to work?

Leveled with 295/60R20 Falken Wildpeak AT4W’s.

Leveled with Bilstein 5100’s on 5th clip. The truck sits about 3/16” higher in the front. If I did it again I’d use the 4th setting to make the truck slightly lower in the front.

Also put on Icon UCA’s

Hope the solid move by BAM Auto (Brunswick Auto Mart) doesn't get lost in the shuffle. Good for them..

 

They seem to be pretty comparable to the stock 4600’s. Ride is great. I definitely prefer this over something like a spacer lift.

 

Just picked up my RB20 running boards tonight. Install planned for the weekend, but your slims have me wishing I had gone that route. Nice Tundra

 

Talon’s Garage full skids. Quality items, powder coating seems tough. Got the steel version as she is a big girl and I wheel hard. These should be more expensive then it is hahaha.

yeah the lady got me the TRD Pro Grille for christmas but had me look at it to make sure it's correct. The box looks like it went through a warzone, will definitely have to inspect it again after seeing your post.

 

Hopefully not. It was a little tricky trying to figure out the return/exchange policy. Had to go back and forth with BAM and their Ecommerce drop ship provider. I think I went through six people until someone laid it so it all out for me on getting a replacement.

 

Thanks brother, yeah went with the slims on a whim in hopes they would not stand out too much from the truck. they do get really slim on the backside on the truck and there is not a lot of step room on them for people, but they still work with enough to help get into the truck.

 

love the set up, bet that rides really smooth. Clean truck brother

 

I used a utility knife to cut al the excess plastic off both sides of each light. I also cut the small retaining tabs off. I left the bottom longer plastic intact to have a base for the 3M VHB tape to adhere to. I marked up two here but modified all four.

 

Didn't even know they made the 5100 for the 3rd gen...I had the toytec lift on my tacoma that came with the 5100s, all the lift i ever needed.
