New shoes, decided to go with Defender LTX Platinum since I drive 99% of the time city/highway not offroading 275/65/R20

 

Got trd pro hood scoops. Still debating if I like them

 

Seems all these trucks need something on the hood to break up the lines. I dig it, but I know folks will call you a PROser. Rave sells inserts to replace "pro" with your trim or whatever else you'd like. If you decide you don't like them, hit me up. I'll give them a shot without shame.

 

Honestly I'm ok with trd pro badge, it's looks better than rave stuff. I know that my truck is not trd pro model but I did not want hybrid anyway and just trying to make truck to look good to me ( not to mimic trd pro ). I don't like black mirrors on trd pro and black accents/spoiler on tailgate either.
But I do like trd pro scoops, my wife says it looks bad "a" and that's all I care about lol

 

Boxed up this piece of crap and got it ready to ship back out

 

Looks good! Thinking about this myself on my limited after I do the level kit & tires, gotta wait & see how it all looks.

 

Installed EGR flares over the weekend. Spidertrax 1" hubcentric spacers will go on today and have 295/60 BFG KO3's going on next week! Worried about the added weight with 10 ply, but oh well. Now I'm cool.

 

Had the dealer change the oil at 1000 miles.

 

Please let us know what you think of those headlights. They look sharp!

 

They are a must have, if you do not have the premium headlights.
The output is so much better than before. I got them with the amber I think it looks perfect on white.

installed ( finally) trd pro hood scoops/plastics on the hood. Placed order on trd pro fender flares

 

Smart move.

 

I saw a 22 for sale with these hood pieces on it in Craigslist. I thought they put them on to make it look like it wasn't part of the recall by giving the hybrid look.

 

Anyone get any popping or more of a clunk while turning at lower speeds? I’ve been having this since I put my first lift on the truck and have since lowered the front end but still have the clunk. Just wondering if anyone else has this. It is not crazy and if it wasn’t for me spending so much money on this truck i would have probably paid no mind to it. 23 limited hybrid non trd axles if that matters. I do have a drop kit installed for the axles. Also anyone notice any wear on the lower half of the aluminum spindle/knuckle? That’s what made me lower my truck back down tbh. I can send pictures later. On top of the bad ride but than again I did install a rough country kit lol any help would be greatly appreciated

 

do you have the aluminum skid plate? A lot of guys have reported a little clunk from it

 

I do but I just installed the skid plate about a month ago and the noise started before installing my plate

 

I got a cut and clamp magnaflow and it’s pretty nice. Kinda loud but it has grown on me. I also cut out the mid pipe and did a dump in front of the rear axle

 

I had the same issue initially when I had leveling struts put on the front. The top bolts on one of the strut assemblies hadn't been fully tightened causing a clunk when hitting a speed bump, switching in reverse, or sometimes turning.

 

I have been considering this on my Limited as well, I think they look great! Do you notice any added wind noise?

 

I have a set of dobinsons on the front but they all seem good. I took it to a shop that had done multiple dobinson kits installed so I would think they installed them correctly but never know. I would agree with you but it was happening before installing my set of dobinsons is the only thing. Idk I feel like I should go get it checked out but just don’t wanna waste money truthfully because knowing a shop they will say they can replicate the noise and just charge me diagnostic fee

 

im going to take ur word and try installing a rubber bushing for my skid plate and see if that knocks it out because I did have a metal skid plate installed when I first started noticing the clunk. I appreciate you for responding

 

No added wind noise, I got lucky with mine though, it is extremely quiet inside compared to mine gen2.5 platinum. I was reading stories about noisy 3rd gens and was pleasantly surprised how quiet mine is. I own few Mercedes, Lexus and Porsche and it does great even compared to those vehicles.

I do like looks of those scoops from interior

 

Awesome, Good to hear, My limited is very quiet except for a rattle under the rear seat that developed at about 4,000 miles but the dealer is diagnosing it.

 

What light pattern did you end up going with on all of them?

 

Oh I love the Alpharex's. Had them on for almost a year now, they really are a head-turner!

 

Fog lights : SAE clear
Ditch lights : Driving combo clear
Grille light : Driving combo clear
Bumper light : Driving combo amber

 

got the alpharex luxx black set and love them ever since getting them installed. Get compliments almost daily

 

You sleep in your truck? Those lights would be tempting to sticky hands. I did all those in BD as well, other than ditch lights because I am afraid someone is gonna try to steal them and mess up the truck in the process.

 

Hahaha yea it’s definitely in my mind but I used the security hardware and red loctite on the ditch lights. Good luck to them. The other lights, I have cameras/security lights and the neighbors dog has her eyes on the truck too so I’ll wake up from the barking. My guns would love to meet someone outside messing about.
