Not exactly. My MIL ordered it, she asked for my VIN # and without even thinking about it, I gave it to her. Guess what I ended up with. :angrygirl:
I've already PMed Roman about returning it for the Sequoia one. I'm awaiting his response.

Every time I open up my computer, there is another picture of the 2018 Sequoia lights. I love the look.
Ironically, the day after Christmas, I hit a deer in of all places Lubbock Texas. I've lived in Colorado for over 40 years and managed to miss every one there and go to Texas and hit a deer :(. One of my headlights is trashed so I was thinking about upgrading headlights when the repair is done - both of the trim pieces under the headlights are gone anyway. I'll keep you posted. I am trying to figure out how to have the repair shop order the sequoia lights instead of the regular leveling lights I have now???

^^^That sucks bro, but maybe it's meant to be??? lol get the insurance to cut you a check and do the repairs yourself. Looks like you can just buy a new bumper and plastic pieces and bolt it up.

I thought about that, but the passenger fender will need to be painted - the headlight scratched the paint off up near the corner - so that is beyond my ability. The first repair shop can't get to it until the end of February and the other shop that I know does good work can't even get me in for an estimate until the 7th of January. I am going to have to pull the front end out so I can open the hood pretty soon, I will need an oil change before the work is completed. Once I open it, I'll have to bend and pull the latching brace out to get it to close again.
Stupid deer, but at least no one (other than the deer) was hurt. I guess a little inconvenience isn't that bad.

I feel your pain bud, I’ve hit deer in both my work truck and the Tundra this year :( I’m in limbo on the Tundra until the first week of Feb unless they total it. As far as the Sequoia lights, just tell em to do it. The shop I’m taking mine too won’t give me any grief over aftermarket parts, whether they have to order them or I have to.

I've done similar upgrades working with body shops in the past. I upgraded the rear end of my last car that way. Just see if they will order the Sequoia parts instead of the Tundra ones, and tell them you will pay the difference. You supply the harness.....................and , done!

Thanks for the input gentleman, I hope it can make it happen. That's one way to turn a bad situation into a good one.

Yeah I agree, just tell them to do it. Even if you pay the difference between what the insurance pays, you will pay a lot less than doing it on your own.

I am as nervous as a cat shitting on a tin roof today... My truck is at 223k and I'm having the transmission serviced. I've read every tundra thread on all the forums and spoke with several dealerships on whether you should just have them drain it and fill with 4 quarts or have all 12 flushed and replaced. The tech here says he flushes his every time. His Sequoia and tundra. They are charging me 179 to do it. I sure hope I didn't make a huge mistake by doing this. There are plenty of horror stories on flushing vs drain and fill. But there are so many that say you should.

Update us when you get it back... I'm at 104,000 and need to do it. No problems, just a lot of towing.

My manual says inspect at 60k, but if you tow or haul stuff to drain and replace. It doesn't use the words flush... But these dealerships say that's how they service them. By replacing all the Fluid. I actually had one service guy tell me you never have to replace the transmission fluid... There is a lot of conflicting info on the subject.

I did mine at 60k. Removed all the fluid by starting the truck and draining a couple quarts at a time until it came out clean. Took about 13 quarts using Toyota WS.
@TruckyTruck you should be fine as long as they didn’t use any type of detergent to flush your trans.

I have no idea what they used... They said they let it flush for about 45 minutes! So they had to have flushed it with something.

    Edit:
Come to think of it, the service tech said they push transmission fluid through it to flush it. Hopefully that was all. It does feel smoother now.

It’s usually just an exchange type machine the pulls the old fluid out and adds new fluid in. Some places use a detergent and/or conditioner. I’m not sure how long it takes though.
