I figured it was high enough up, but with the way I wheel it would 100% be getting smacked

Haha, yeah I don’t take KOMPNS8 off-road. The center of gravity is too high!

Took it for it's first road trip with the wife and kids yesterday. Made the 2 hour trip to visit my mom in PA for the day. Everyone was happier on the ride in this truck than in my Tacoma including me. It was nice being able to use the cruise control and not have the truck start downshifting at the slightest hint of a hill.

Installed these today. Bring on the accessories!

Just gotta find a good place for the spod hd controller. I'm thinking the useless business card holder in the overhead? Anyone have any other ideas?

It took a little while but I got the 100k mile tune up/maintenance list done. New water pump, spark plugs, changed out the power steering, brake and differential fluids. Changed out the coolant. Lubed all chassis and drive train points and an oil change. I had done the serpentine belt about 10k miles ago. Hopefully the truck keeps on running for another 100k + miles.

Not today, but rather a week ago- I used it to transport 47 bags of mulch and a couple water heaters. Damn water heater started leaking in my 7-year old house so I had to replace it with an AO Smith.

For those wondering, my tailgate magnet says "PRESIDENTS ARE TEMPORARY. WU-TANG IS FOREVER"

Oil change! Used the 5W-30 Restore & Protect everyone raves about. Remind me and I'll let you know if it quiets down the rattles.

This was the first time I used the Jowett Performance filter cap and oil pan valve. Much tidier! And the RCI skid plate having a convenient window for the oil filter saved 20 minutes of fighting with my old rusty skid plate.

It must be oil change time for everyone. Glad I came across this I've never heard about the valvoline R&P, are you changing it at 3k or 5k mile intervals?

Probably just in a year which is about 3k miles... But the oil says to use the recommended interval.

2010 Rock Warrior CM. Last night got new rubber on all four corners. I also did the front wheel bearings/hubs and the East Coast Gear Supply Needle Bearing replacement in the front diff. Then changed the front diff fluid. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any pics as my kid and I did all of this at my friend's service shop and we were on a time crunch.

Hopefully made a huge mess one last time in the garage.
I kept the new spring from the new filter housing. They both measured the same diameter of wire.

Removed the airbag and steering wheel to replace the clock spring thanks to my airbag light being on.
    clockspring.png

I had cleared all history codes and then read what came back and it was the clock spring. Turns out the airbag ECU won't throw a code until you've put between 150-200 miles on it again, and that's bad too. Time to order another part for the same issue I thought I had fixed...

crap. i did my clock spring too and my airbag light did not go off. my cruise control works again, though! i cleared all my codes after install (my battery had also been disconnected for a day or two) but the airbag light was back on. right away. i don't drive my tundra daily, so it might be a while 'til i get 200 miles on 'er. what's the solution? what's the next part you're ordering?

I have never heard this. It this in service manual?

I just got done replacing 4 air bags in my '21. Had the ECU reset, and switched the bags out.

I've replaced several clock springs and bags in Toyota trucks. If everything is properly connected, there will be no air bag light.

You must have a bad connection somewhere. The system is not that complicated.

The ECU does a continuity test every start up. If all connections, bag connectors, seatbelt connectors, weight seat sensors are properly seated, the computer turns off the bag light after the truck has started.

I'm curious about what is going on. Keep us updated.

I put new Vland Sequoia style headlights in the ‘07 today. Haven’t paint matched the panels that fit underneath yet but they totally refreshed the whole front end. Bright drl’s too. Now I need some decent led fog lights to match. It’s the beginning of the warm weather fixes that need to be done.

It's the airbag ECU itself that's malfunctioning. Funny thing is, not long ago I had to open up the same area in the footwell and below the center stack to replace my AC blend door actuator. Now I've got to replace the component that's literally right below that same HVAC box.

More details of what I'm going to replace from this old thread:

    It's not that easy.

Do your stretching exercises before pulling the ECU. It's bolted to the transmission tunnel.

I've sent mine into a place in Georgia. Myairbags.com.

I've used them to reset 3 SRS ecu's and to rebuild 4 seatbelts.

They are quick and I've never had to do return because something was not correct.

Gave her a good wash today followed by some Adams spray detail. The first wash of the season here in NW Pa.. A full inside and outside detail will be as soon as it warms up. Whenever that might be.

    Technically it was yesterday…

Installed a new FLATED AirTopper on my truck. So dang easy to get on and off.

Some day I’ll get some wheels and tires, and bumpers, and a paint job, and some lift…

Why? The utilitarian look looks just fine. Does the cap do what you want? Then who gives a shit what others think.

I run soft toppers on both my Tundras. They do the job, and do it great, but they aren't going to win a beauty pageant.

I think my emoji was the wrong choice, it was supposed to convey “dreaming”…

I agree, I’m in it for the use. Traditional caps are cumbersome when I need the full bed. With this I can just toss it off onto the ground, run my errand, then put it back on. Or just roll it up and stash it. Pretty excited for the versatility.

I don’t really need the high security of a SmartCap or the aesthetics of a Leer. The FLATED fits my use very well.
