These are 35x12.5x17 with wheels that are a zero offset.

It's currently sitting higher than I want but it has been settling. They are getting softer as I break them in though!

It's funny you mentioned that, haha. I bought this from him when he got the single cab. I want to make some aftermarket parts for the 2nd gen Tundras. I feel like there isn't a ton for them.

Nothing too much however I did start it in the driveway, after I got home from my heart valve surgery. I can't drive for a few weeks, but I got a thrill out of sitting in it while it was running. Sucks being old fellas.

Can you feel/hear when you need to replace your front needle bearing? Also what side?

You can definitely hear it when it's bad. It's aow pitch growler that is present at low speeds.

I was just driving on the highway this morning in 4wd high. Which I have done before but under acceleration I could hear a deep hum and feel vibration in the steering wheel. Sounded like front driver.

The sound goes away when you are in 4wd. I don't think you have a bearing issue.

Sorry the sound is only present in 4wd hi at highway speeds. I can feel it between 70-75 under acceleration only. I will just check everything over soon, it doesn't sound or feel like an immediate issue.

It might be the fact that you’re in 4wd hi at 70…

Also yes I know the manual doesn’t say what’s the limit on speed; what size tires are you running and are they mud tires

Here’s the tire mount; it’s just a center threaded tube with 3 small rebar pieces that fit into mounting surface of the spare; then on the outside is a plate to sandwich the wheel and then the threaded key holds it all together

and then there’s also a pic of the tent and awning open

Drove about an hour and a half round trip today for what I think might be a record for a deal for myself. Picked up this great condition tonneau cover (real truck UC4076) for $100 cash. On my way back seemed like my MPG’s went up (17.6). What do you guys think?

Yeah bed covers can help with mpg, makes the truck more aerodynamic

But also calculate your mpg by hand when you fill up, the digital reading isn’t accurate

(miles driven / gallons filled = mpg)

I always hand calculate and my milage is always better on the trip cpu compared to my calculations. Gotta be a marketing thing so they can claim I'm getting 14.6 when I'm really getting 13.5

I purchased it because I plan on using the truck for business and it will at least visually help prevent things from walking away too easily. I have seen some info debating both ways on whether or not tonneau covers help with MPG so I will definitely do a more scientific update (Hand calculation) when I burn a full tank.

I think it’s just really the fact that it’s showing you your current mpg and not the mpg of the whole tank

It’d be interesting to see a team actually test it but on paper it’s removing the ability for air to get trapped or create drag in the bed so it practically has to help, but then there is also the added weight… I guess a similar result would come from just removing the tailgate

Yesterday I drove up north about 30 miles to respond to FB ad for Leer 100XL cap for $500. It was not bad but doesn’t clear the cab of my reg cab. I had to look!! Anyways, turns out it was left by the guys wife’s ex-husband about 8 yrs ago and had been cluttering up the yard. Got onto the truck all covered in mud and slugs. Told the guy it just didn’t work. He says ‘look it, just take it we want it gone!’ So there. A FREE Leer 100XL canopy. Haha. Free has a price. I’m having a bitch of a time removing the key latch. Totally corroded and seized. Maybe tomorrow after the penetrating oil has got to it I can remove to replace. Also went by local wrecker and picked up intermittent wiper switch from a 2014 Tacoma, which took almost 2 minutes to switch out. So less than $100 and some gas money. Pretty good couple of days! LOL.

Nice score! I think the topper looks good at just below cab height for what's it's worth.

Installed a tonneau cover over the weekend.

SyneticUSA (lol made in China) retractable cover, manual, not powered. Retrax knockoff. Not cheap, but less than half the price of a Retrax. Seems solid. Good fit, no rattling. Time will tell. Fairly easy install, even doing it solo.

4 hrs to pull a starter.

Why don't the vids tell you its easier to remove lower ball joint boltsto remove the axle?

They want you to pull the upper ball joint nut and remove all the brake and wheel speed sensor wires. Job still sucks when you have a 4wd and transmission cooler lines to work around.

Pick up the new starter tomorrow. Hopefully the install is much easier.

Yes, it is so easy just pulling the lower knuckle bolts/axle bolt and swing it out of the way. I've never pulled the axle to do the starter. Even with long tubes I just pull the passenger manifold now.

It's difficult to imagine the scenario where you need 4wd, and yet still travel at 70-75 mph.
