Curious why you put the stock airbox and washer reservoir back in?

I was gonna do a custom cowl intake but I just haven’t had the time to get around to it, I don’t like how much dirt the K&N filters let through so going back to paper; you can oil them to stop dirt but it’s bad for the maf and motor

and when I did the cowl intake I was gonna do a battery and air compressor setup in the engine bay but I’ll just run the compressor standalone and I think I’ll keep the battery in the bed with the mini fridge for the time being

Oh and it’s easy to keep a spare filter on hand to swap out

I recently acquired my first Tundra, and I’ve spent the past couple weeks making it mine and fixing a few things. This is how I got her
First thing I did was fix the broken tail light, I replaced them with the later more square style rather than the round oems.
Next, I put my front license plate back on, but I didn’t like the brackets that would attach to or hang from the winch, so I made my solution that I feel fits the aesthetic of the steel bumper pretty well.

Today, I installed the stubby antenna

I also have a new rear bumper and tailgate handle on the way, I’m definitely enjoying doing the little stuff and have lots of plans for the future.
Since I’m new to the scene, suggestions are also welcome!

Went to install my TRD sway bar, removed old bar in 10 mins, took the TRD out of the plastic wrap and the retaining ring is cracked..

Moved onto the rear brake lines, installed SS lines on the over axle and rear calipers. Finish up the front tomorrow with my new BBK then bleed it all..

Your truck still has the sticker on the fuel tank! Obviously not abused enough, LOL. That all looks good.

First 200 km trip to Vic and back. Straight tread line makes a nice bit of tire noise. Louder than the MT's, kinda surprised.
No difference to economy, the engine is strong enough to compensate. Can feel the weight on lift off though, and
being stiffer than the Coopers transfers road conditions stronger. It's a truck, so far so good.

I would love owning a short box 5.7
    They look very unassuming, almost

Got my parking brake reset (atleast according to the service manual). Not yet able to test it as the truck is still waiting for the fan bracket and the power steering pump to arrive.

Yes, Dumbo doors for sure. Ironically the last car I owned with an auto trans was a beautiful 1973 Monte Carlo Landau with swivel bucket seats, velour interior, cassette deck, 350 with automatic transmission. The doors on that car were almost 60"! I loved that car chick magnet
back then! 1980. LOL. I've decided I like big single doors, and have learned to live with them. 2 doors is better than 4 doors. :p

Stupidly lost my only key this morning while I was out snow blowing. Of course I've had 2.5 years to have another key made and never had. Now I am waiting for AAA to tow my truck to Toyota and get a new key made and they will have to order me a new fob. Of course we are getting a Lake Effect snowstorm right now and we probably have close to 2 feet on the ground already, with zero sign of it letting up. I should be smacked around for this. P.S. this bone head move is going to run a little over 200 bucks when all is said and done.

Damn. You'll probably find it this spring when everything melts. But that's a real bummer. I hate it when I am the cause of of such moves.

    Do you own a dog???

If so, take him/her outside and just let em walk around that area (just a bit downwind of where you think you lost it)... There's a fair chance that even w/an untrained dog, there's enough of your odor on the keys, fob, etc. they may show some curiosity if they happen to get downwind of it and start working that odor back to source (or at least get you close) :notsure:

Now, pro level tip, if you know anyone that does any tracking, police, or human odor type work (such as search and rescue)... I'd call them immediately and offer them a free training scenario. Any SAR handlers would be all over that especially in snowy conditions (very real training for them)

Are you gonna have 2 keys made, or just wait for spring to pick up the original one off the lawn?

I've had parts rattle off of my snowblower in the winter in years past. And I've always found them once everything melts.

I also always keep a spare key in a magnetic hide a key box on my truck.

My mom used to have 1 set of hard contact lenses back in the 70’s. She lost a lens in snowstorm in Guelph. We shovelled all the snow from 35’ walkway both side and let it melt in the bathtub. Took awhile. But in the end there was the lens.
Got any, know any younger kids? Get them in there with shovels and make it a game.

Old on top, new on bottom. Definitely a difference between them. Old rattles and will spin a full rotation while the new is quiet and barely does 1/4 rotation with the same force applied. 20241130_162348.jpg
