You don't however it is so easy to take out the upper console and yes you can pop out the clear lenses pull the reflector and bulbs my concern was the plugs on the LED do not have a stop on them and it is way too easy to push them in too far since the connectors are so flimsy Toyota depends on the shape of the light bulb to prevent that.

How does the gray surround on the Meso lights look against the tan on the console? This mismatch is the only thing that has kept me from doing this upgrade.

It really does not look bad since the "grey" is not much different than the original Plastic lenses were it is not really that noticeable unless you point it out and stare at it but then that is just me it is a 16 year old truck that how it runs is more important to me than Not perfect match of little things.

You can also get the SEM Plastic / Vinyl Paint and change the color of the console to match for $16 bucks a can and the stuff does work very good and holds up just as well.

Not the best pics, but full old man emu stuff front and back. Extra leaf in the dakar pack. She’s sitting pretty high right now, should settle down. And will have our all terrain camper on it most of the time.
Wheelers had the best price I could find and shipped free. Front coils assembled, rear leaf packs assembled.
Didn’t have time, and questionable talent so I paid a local shop to toss it together.
Just have to get the airbags back together (post about that in suspension thread) and either rotate the sway bar or take it off. It’s on like normal but seems weird.
thought it was be a harsh ride with the fat leafs and no weight, but rides and drives great!
Was super happy with the old 100 series on ome, that’s why I went with them again.

Changed CB types from my handheld with car kit to a Uniden Pro 520XL. Had to make a few modifications to get it mounted, but I like how it is now.

I think I may have to do this next. Climate controls stopped turning on when I start the car after it has been on previously and temperature defaults to 75 when I turn on the climate controls. Quick search leads me to believe the servo is the problem.

I hope don’t have to go that route. Here is a video I found to check for climate control codes.

Got a lot done this weekend, 6 quarts of transmission fluid replaced, transmission filter, 2 solenoids replaced and transmission pan gasket replaced. Been holding on the filter for 2 years as well as the pan gasket. Gasket was seeping, transmission all around the gasket seemed coated with fluid residue not red, but oily substance. Resolder my aux port as often times the left speaker stops working at certain angles and had to swivel the bluetooth adapter to get a good contact.

AC Servo is next, will probably replace it at work since I can't really do much at home.

So the filler pieces under the headlights fell apart after removal from recent headlights replacement. There was some 2way tape holding them in where the tabs/prongs had previously broken prior but even the rivet holes fell apart, seemed very brittle. I couldn't get enough 2way tape to hold them in place. LOL
Paint matched filler pieces are no longer available from Toyota.
Purchased some unpainted replacements, aftermarket, $75 for the pair. Didn’t get painted, tried some Carbon Fiber Design vinyl wrap from Amazon. Not bad for my first wrap job, they fit well. They kind of compliment the grill and center piece.

Still not sure how much I like it. May get some more later and have painted to matched.

I use this from Duplicolor. Then spray a clear coat for color matched at home way cheaper. And still comes out clean.

I got DTC code B1497. Forgot what the climate control code was flashing, it was a 90 something number so it could have been 97.

I bought the eBay 4way window auto up down control bc it's kinda cool and in the process I figured I might as well paint the last part of my interior black, the window switch panels.

So I bought the professional SEM paint and painted them, used adhesion promoter and it came out better than all my previous paint jobs with Krylon etc.

In the process I could see my rear door speakers were blown and so I ordered some kicker replacements. While in there I figured I might as well sound proof it.

I got it all back together yesterday and it actually sounds really good. I just ordered kicker 6x9 replacements for the front and I'll probably swap em next week and sound proof the front doors. I know I'll have to do minor mod for speakers but it's ok.

The rear doors close like a German car now, solid, and the sound is much improved.

I also bolted down the ICS plate by clock but didn't take a pic lol.

Nothing fancy but wanted to share with the community, thank you.

This is something also on my list. Painting the window switch panels as well as sound deadening the doors. Did you have jbl speakers?

No good dead goes unpunished I guess. Did a spill and fill on the transmission to try to solve some jerky shifting (230k miles on it). 3qts out/in.

The entire job went smooth... until the final torque up of the bolts. When torquing the drain bolt it just kept turning.. and turning.. and turning. It's stripped. It's more than hand tight right now and it doesn't appear to be leaking but something will need to be done, either a new pan or tapping a new bolt hole. Either way it will have to wait at least a week as I need the truck and don't have the parts needed to fix ASAP. I marked the bolt with a paint pen and will keep an eye on it for leaks and loosening. Hell - if it holds I may end up waiting a few thousand miles until I was planning on doing another spill and fill. (Edit: option 3, JB weld the bolt in place and do any future trans work through the check port w/ a siphon).

A quick search around here makes it seem like this is a common issue. Highly recommend anyone doing a trans drain only tighten the bolts 'to feel'.
