Makes sense. Dealer wanted over $2K to do the driver side. I could probably do the next one in about 2 to 3 hours, but hope I never have to.

Yesterday used it to pull our trailer to central Utah to watch the eclipse. 8.8mpg overall. Second tank was lower than the first tank. Worst mpg record at 7.8

Finished the welding last weekend. Just finished raptor liner today. Next up is a fresh coat of woolwax on the underside.

Got my steering wheel controls and replacement airbag working!

    IMG_0178.jpg

The replacement airbag I bought seems to be brown. Rather than return it I covered it.

    IMG_0186.jpg

I have covers for the controls coming soon.

ALSO, one step forward two steps back... I seem to have broken my climate controls in the process. After I reconnected my battery, my fans are constantly blowing hot air. My head unit controls the climate, but doesn't seem to be registering any adjustments to fan speed or temperature.

I reconnected all the harnesses that I had messed with and rebooted everything. I've seen other people with similar problems but no detailed solutions.

It's possible I broke a connection, shorted something or blew a fuse. Anyone know where exactly I should start looking?

    I tow a Rockwood 29' (34' overall) at roughly 9,000 lbs. with my reg-cab 2012 5.7L Tundra. Average mileage 10 mpg Imperial.

My apology for the double pic, didn't intend that to happen.

    That's a lot of trailer for a Tundra :eek2:
    Mine is a 267, 30ft all in.

After adding 300 lbs fresh water the front sat a bit high, so shortly after taking this pic, I tightened the Blue Ox load levelling device from 9 chain links to 10, and it levelled out nicely.

It's tough, mine is dialed in for a full load heading out. But if I have to bring it home with full waste tanks in the very rear of the trailer, it doesn't handle as well. I get some sway on certain road surfaces.

Unfortunately, all 3 tanks on mine are forward of the axles - bad design. However, that way I can play with the load-levelling chains and go up or down a link. No sway.

Thanks for the post of the RV you pull. I'm about to start pulling my RV which is nearly the same as yours. I just installed a transmission cooler otherwise it is all stock. I'm only pulling it 200 miles to be stationary again for a few years. Cross my fingers no problems.

You'll be fine. The Tundra is the toughest pickup available anywhere, and tows with real confidence :)

I think there are a few threads. Problem is there is a WIDE variety of opinions. From the Tundra can't hardly tow anything to the Tundra towed the space shuttle

Anyone know a good way to get this film off? Truck is a 2011 and this stuff won’t come clean, hasn’t for a long time. Want to take it off so it looks decent. Thanks for any tips.

WTB - Tundra Trailer Wire Tow Harness!

I think I may have tossed the old Hopkins harness I pulled off a wile back ago. I was going to put on a new plug on it today and I just can't seem to find it, so if anyone has a parts truck that is willing to part one out without pulling my pants down over the price lol. Thanks!
