    I never knew this. I've been scoping the ajt knobs but also debating painting them as well to be the cheap ass I am. Good to know I have options. Thanks for the info @Shanet421

    Also loving your blaaaack out look. Dark side is the way to go.

    Finally finished my dual battery setup - an Optima Yellowtop D34/78 powering my ARB compressor w/1.5G tank and always-on USB charging ports and other (eventual) accessories through a Blue Sea ML-ACR charge controller and Blue Sea SafetyHub 100 Fuse Block for distribution. Been inching along on this for over six months - feels good to get it wrapped up!

    Seriously? You did a dual battery set up in a Tundra and didn't show pictures of it? That is a two beer foul.

    232k x 629 tire revs per mile x 4.3 rear end ratio =
    627 million revolutions.

    It lived a full life.

    @Tipsovr

    Fair enough, here's the whole system ... it's probably not exactly what you're thinking it'd be for a dual-battery setup.

    The 2nd battery is in a rack in the void in front of the right rear tire. I sorted this bit out last weekend and yesterday, making a jig, sorting out brackets, and welding to the frame.

    IMG_5398.jpg IMG_5399.jpg

    The 1.5G Viair tank is in the opposite void in front of the left rear tire. There is a chuck off the tank accessible against the frame above the left-rear tire. This went in months ago.

    IMG_5396.jpg IMG_5397.jpg

    Inside we have the ML-ACR controller switch on the right of the column and the ARB Single switch on the left. I didn't get a picture of the USB ports, but they're nothing special ... mounted in a blank to the right of the OEM USB port.

    IMG_5395.jpg IMG_5394.jpg

    This is the Blue Sea ML-ACR charge controller and Blue Sea SafetyHub 100 distribution block, and a relay box on a lightly modified ********* mount. This was installed after the compressor and tank, but before the interior work.

    IMG_5391.jpg IMG_5392.jpg

    Finally, here is the ARB compressor on the bracket from the company whose name I can't remember (anyone know?) with my homemade manifold tucked behind and another chuck available in this location. This was the first thing to be installed - I'm estimating about six months ago.

    IMG_5393.jpg

    Trying to figure out what I want to tackle next - kind of fancy the idea of a Demello hidden winch mount, but am in no hurry.

    Love the battery mount. I have a group 24 AGM in a compartment in my bed toolbox, but have been considering that location when it poops out and needs to be replaced.

    Fwiw, the Demello winch bracket is slick, been using mine for about 2 years.

    And battery cables are run from the main battery to secondary? All tucked near the frame? How thick of cables?

    Everything looks great, never even thought about tucking the battery there, I did consider an air tank though; haven’t gotten around to it yet

    @joseph_womack

    Thanks, and yes, there is a lot of usable space in those voids, and they’re well hidden from any casual glance, and reasonably protected.

    The secondary battery cables are size 1/0 and routed down into the frame from the engine bay back to the battery. They’ll handle all the amps the battery is cable of delivering given the distance - about 20’ for my RCSB. The batteries are tied together through the Blue Sea ML-ACR which latches and unlatches depending on charge level and other conditions to ensure load on one battery doesn’t draw down both.

    Semi-Completed a brake job yesterday. Replaced both front Calipers, I thought they were seized or frozen as they started making noise. Turned out it was my rear brake that was freezing. Got a damaged rotor I'll have to get turned today...

    Well, the trip to CO started with a bang in Ames, IA (which is funny because I went to school at Iowa State for 5 years and drove this road a million times). A lady in her Kia minivan pulled out from the right lane in front of me in the left lane and decided to come to a complete stop while I was doing highway speed with 3,500 lbs. of cargo/trailer. I went full ABS and managed to trim 20-25mph off, but still made contact at around 50-55mph, minivan was probably doing 15-25mph. The eBay bumper took the hit like a champ and saved the trip. Two of the SS5's lights still work, two broke. All the SS3's are functional. No damage to the radiator, trans cooler, fans, belts, etc. Everything functioned as it should, so we kept the nose in the wind. Her minivan took a big hit, I'd imagine it's close to be totaled out. Overall, no one was hurt and the Tundra kept us safe.

    We still made it to CO to elk hunt and had a blast. No meat in the cooler, but that's hunting. Our neighbor at base camp also had a Tundra, we were in good company. I put 40 miles on the boots and had some close opportunities, but couldn't get an arrow off.

    IMG_4873.jpg Decided the air bags were a bit overkill for what I tow….only around 3500lbs. Pulled the air bags and put in Timbrens. Drives like butter empty. Hooking up the trailer and SxS soon for the real test.

    Sorry to see but glad to hear you and others are safe! Gives me some reassurance on this bumper's quality, I've always been curious how it would hold up in an accident. I take it you don't have a winch in yours? I'm wondering if that would have made the difference with mine-I could see it being pushed into the radiator and leave me unable to continue the trip.
