My wife and I went on a little day trip Wednesday. On the way back, traffic suddenly slowed and we saw a tire rolling across the highway into the ditch. No rim, just a tire. A couple of cars in front of us switched lanes and we could see the car that lost the tire headed for the shoulder. To the driver's credit, he brought it to a safe stop. I've never seen a car neatly lose just a tire before.

Got tired of not being able to feel my ac vent in hot ass LA bc of my phone mount. So I ended up removing the coin holder to mount a phone holder in that location.

Found this idea in another tundra site

Lol…. I know, I know…. I’m actually pulling it off to add more rubber strips to seal the sides and front better.

This was actually last weekend but I've been busy so I never posted it. I bought a DU-HA underseat storage box for under the back seat and installed it (5 minute install, or 10+ if you have a child seat in the back like I did).

Super simple to install and very sturdy. I'm happy with it. Here are some before, during and after install pics.

    Empty back seat:
    signal-2023-05-20-090926_002.jpg

Threaded clips that pop right in and act as nuts for the thumb screws:
    signal-2023-05-20-090926_004.jpg

    Empty box in place:
    signal-2023-05-20-090926_007.jpg

    Tighten thumb screws:
    signal-2023-05-20-090926_006.jpg

    Optional dividers slid into place:
    signal-2023-05-20-090926_008.jpg

Range ready (ok, maybe for the range they'd be in bags...):
    signal-2023-05-20-090926_009.jpg

Little bit of a gap if you look at it from a straight-on low angle, but a nice fit and look overall:

Really small as far as mods go, but….

This holds my phone in sight while not obstructing the field of view at all. Caught it on sale for $12 a few days ago. It’s designed to clip on vents but not round ones. I popped off the driver left vent and found a perfect notch that it secures to, vent snaps back in perfectly.

So no blocked vent and the thing is super secure since it’s connected to a piece that doesn’t move at all. Took maybe two minutes.

Took it to the car wash and washed a good inch of dirt off the frame rails, out of the cross members and everywhere else. Next hot day, I will be putting it up on jack stands (taking wheels off) and getting underneath to wash everything I can reach. Want it to be clean when get ready to install an Eibach Stage 2R kit.

A little poke is good. It it bugs me when I see trucks with the tires inside the fender wells, especially if they have fender flares and stock wheels.

That’s what I had originally. Mine came with stock flares and stock wheels and looked horrible, so I took the flares off. Unfortunately, they left rash marks on the fenders. I tried to buff them out, but the scratches were too deep. The funny thing is the ride and steering feel a little smoother. My wife thought I had changed the shocks or something else to the suspension.

Anyone have problems with their air vents not staying where you move them? When you hit bumps they bounce and face up

I don’t have that issue, but my gf sometimes closes her vents bc she gets cold and they make a whistling sound.

I used the smallest side black binder clip with the silver "handles" removed. The added friction keeps them in place and you can't even notice they're there if you're not looking. I'll grab a picture tomorrow.

my other vent is the big issue as well, never stays what so ever, I'll take a pic tomorrow but I used a small binder clip, removed clip from one side and slit it onto the bottom vent crossbar, the remaining clip keeps the vent from going straight up and will only let it sit at half/blow straight forward

my left driver vent is starting to give me issues so I'm looking to see what most other people have done, just replace the vent?

Looks great! I too have been fighting the urge to get a set of these tails. What are your thoughts on them so far? What’s the plan for the 3rd brake light?

    Few days ago...

I swapped to black badges ( taped them off, used fishing line to remove the badge, then on the first badge I tried googone and a few other stuff to remove it... was a mess as expected. For the rest I just used a sticker / decal wheel which was so much better. Glad I bought one years ago and stashed it!

After that I used the clay bar, then a few compound pads and eventually ceramic coated the whole thing.

    IMG_0968.jpg IMG_0969.jpg IMG_0970.jpg IMG_0972.jpg IMG_0975.jpg

    Yesterday

Finished the badge process (only ones left were the tailgate) and kind of rushed through the paint correction this time, but it looks a lot better than before anyways... also did the ceramic coating. While back there I installed my super bright white led back up lights from Amazon. Pretty good improvement. Don't know at night yet as I never checked.

    IMG_1062.jpg IMG_1063.jpg

Now I just need to find the "limited" blackout for it.

Getting closer to "finishing" the truck, but still a few big changes left.

Damn this site is bad for my wallet. Which tails are those? I didn't think I needed new ones until I saw these.
