You're too late....it was 15 degrees and all back together. If it's a little nicer in the next week or two I'm going to want to replace that bolt anyway (I'm basically prepping myself to have to drill it out and wreck another few bits, not to mention I'll need a replacement as it's the one that is 'attached' to the lower box from the factory. It did look pretty clean in there when I had it open though...

For anyone with a deck install...how is your Android Auto working? Mine is highly variable...sometimes it'll go for hours without issue, other rides it'll bomb out every 30-seconds to few mins, which is supremely irritating when I'm using Maps and almost to my destination! I upgraded to the high-end high-speed/data cable and I don't think that's the issue. I'm not sure if it's my HU or my phone (I have a Motorola Ace and it's only 64 gb, and has been slow lately, so maybe it's time for a new phone with better storage, although the phone I don't think is even a year old). I've done some research and the only answers have been "get a better cable"...

Also, since I had my Viper alarm installed, my HU doesn't turn off when it's plugged into the OBD2 port, no real idea why, but the answer I've found was the same as mentioned - add in a resistor. I'm not sure why it worked just fine prior to Viper install, but here we are...I've just left it unplugged in the meantime and have no vehicle data (not the end of the world). I'm leery of plugging it in and forgetting about it and killing the battery...

Yeah, it's long travel with glass fenders. As far as the aluminum foil goes:notsure::notsure:

I don’t like Android Auto. It won’t auto start and puts the unit in standby mode every time I start up the car and need to manually select android auto every time. I have Galaxy S21 and changed setting on phone to auto connect. I use CarPlay instead with my iPhone 11 and have been working great. I do get the occasional reboots which is annoying.

I greased the fittings and shot 2 cans of Fluid Film underneath and under the hood. 88,000 miles on this heap and the underside is surprisingly rust-free. 95% of the rust I saw was on fasteners. Also "snugged up" the bed bolts to 80lbs.

I always use tape, but I'm assuming its to keep slag/splatter from the welder from attaching onto the splines of the CV shaft and ruining it

Took me about 2hrs with a few breaks here and there. Very happy with the outcome but probably need to go back and pull the threads a little tighter at some point.

If you are in the VA Beach area and are interested I’m letting it go for $80 or best offer. It comes with the wiring kit to retain the steering wheel controls. It has Apple CarPlay, front USB port, and volume knob. I live in North Suffolk.

Just purchased her.2012 crewmax Texas truck found in Illinois. Tastefully modified already so going to get all maintenance up to speed. Going to spend hours on this page seeing what everyone’s doing to their truck!

be careful with that ranch hand bumper, I had the same one on my truck for years, until I found out that it was actually breaking the welds on the bumper mount and causing it to separate from the frame

    and also welcome!! :D

Looks like the rod from cylinder #6 thought it was too stuffy in the crankcase and decided to start the demo for some new windows. That was probably after the valve spring broke.

dang, valve spring broke causing the valve to fall into the cylinder? I guess the motors being non-interference wouldn't exactly solve that

I performed an oil change that dumped oil all over my driveway again but hopefully next time it’ll be easier to get it in the bucket.

The valve, metal oil filter, filter socket, and funnel are all new and great so far.

thank you for showing me these gems fellas

For those who have installed the oil drain valves, are there any issues with clearance with the factory skid plate?
