Noticed an exhaust leak yesterday. Found the cause today and fixed it up with a $10 Dorman bolt pack from autozone. No idea how I lost the bolts. There seems to be no signs of tampering. I'm thinking it may have just rusted away or a recent high water crossing thermo shocked them into breaking. Whatever the case, the gasket was still there and the bolts cured the noise instantly.

    R&R the pass side UCA.
Rebuilt the strut on that side and got it back in.
Planned on doing the hub assemblies...but the supplier/TRQ put the wrong seals in the boxes...
Asked for replacement seals and instead they sent me a return tag....so for now I'm skipping the hubs and ordered new seals to replace the one bad one. They're coming from Lakeland Toyota Overstock.

Changed PCV valve for the first time ever.
Been working on Raptor Lining the running boards until I can find a set of nFab’s for sale. Kinda like the look without them but I’m only 5’9” and jumping in kinda sucks.
Also, finally got some metal BBS stickers for my center caps to match the powder coated wheels.

Starting process to replace outter tie rods and UCA.
Ordered the Coachbuilder ones yesterday and SPC UCA’s Monday.

I’m running a 6” ProComp lift on 17x8.5 +10 wheels on 37x13.5 tires. I wanted 12.5 but they were back ordered.

    Cooper discovery sst pro tires

    https://shopcoachbuilder.com/collec...der-steering-kit-bds-4-5-7-procomp-6-7-zone-5

my main concern is that the tie rods will hit the stupid wide tires. I think I’m gonna have to put the spacers back on unfortunately. I did the BMC but still would like to avoid using the 1.5” spacers if possible at all.

Two weeks a ago I had a transmission drain and fill (85k miles), plus an oil change. Now getting .9 mpg better before the service. Not really sure what to attribute the increased MPG’s to since two things were done at the same time, but I’m going what oil they used. I asked for 5w-30 which is what I have been using but suspect since it says 0-20 on the invoice, that is what they used.

Did my 2007 to 2013 Limited/Platinum grill swap. Annoying as the three or so tutorials I found did not include a full parts list. So I had to go to the dealership three times to get the right parts.

But after all said and done, I love the look on my truck

I also added a camera to my third brake light lens so I could monitor my truck bed while hauling stuff

Next is replacing the blown JBL front speakers and adding a wired mic to my Dasaita headunit so I can talk handsfree (original one broke)

Also, picked up this TRD skid plate for $200. On a roll lately with the local deals!

How was the fit on the TRD skid? Trying to decide if I want a TRD or go with the RCI.

It was a very easy install and fits perfect. However, the skid plate makes some awful creaking noises though when turning. Trying to sort that out.

Did you have to do any trimming on it with the 35’s?

Surprisingly no trimming required thus far. Maybe under some extreme articulation of the front suspension

edit: here’s some photos of them where they’re clean. My buddy did a great job powdercoating them.

Started to install my 3/2 lift (block and spacer readylift). Got the rear done quickly, maybe 1 hour total. Trick is to not remove the wheels, just take off the u-bolts and jack up the leaf enough to slip in the spacer.

Got the front all assembled and realized the previous owner had installed a 2.5" revtek lift (https://www.revtek.com/vehicle-sele...379-kit-437f-2-5-front-only-kit-4wd-only.html) This lift is a preload lift (aka you need to compress the spring to install/remove). Was just about ready to head to the auto parts store to get a compressor when I noticed in the instructions that the revtek kit calls for you to discard the coil spring isolator pad. Long story short I put my truck back together the way it was and ordered the isolator pads. My alignment is totally out of wack. Probably will take another car to work for a while until I can get this fixed.

The rear lift looks good but if sits a little high. I am hoping the 2.5 -> 3" change will be enough for my liking. Picture below is with 2" blocks in the rear and the 2.5" revtek in the front.

i considered this for a year or two, sold my BBS’s and went aftermarket. These pics make me 2nd guess that decision.

You can probably find a set for around $300. That’s what I did. I think I paid $350 for the wheels back in 2018 and then early 2022 paid $500 for them to get powder coated.

Made an attempt to get the front hub and new seal on the front of the truck.
The seal that I received from the Lakeland Toyota Overstock is the wrong size....which I didn't catch until I about had the whole thing put back together, when the hub wouldn't turn.
So, the seal that arrived with the TRQ hubs were incorrect, and these Toyota seals are incorrect...
