    Very satisfying. Nice work. Those rear rotors were toast.

    There was maybe a half-mm on the pads too! Lots of breaker bars required to do though lol

    Replaced the serpentine belt. Was much easier than expected, especially with locking the tensioner pulley. Took “maybe” 30 minutes and that was at a snails pace.

    Finally got the michelins mounted on the Level 8 wheels. Have to say et12 is the perfect offset for a tundra with flairs. 20220814_135204.jpg

    MICHELIN. LTX AT Trail. Got a smoking deal on them as new take off. 600 bucks. 1400 for wheels and tires. I was pleased.

    Intriguing. This is a new tire to me. What did it come from? According to the Google, it only comes in a 265/70r18 P rated. So a half ton?

    These came on a 2022 tundra. Watched him dismount them. It was a toyota employee.

    Also also... After tightening up the bead lock bolts realized it seemed to make the sound WORSE, resulting in a speed-dependent wah wah wah....re-tightening them did not help, and the ring would be loose again after a short drive.

    Got home and found out ALL the lugnuts on the driver's rear tire were basically loose enough to be able to be tightened by hand. So either I forgot to torque them down (but I specifically remember doing them, and it's been two weeks now) or they managed to loosen themselves up. Yikes.

    Check your lugs people!

    ironically enough I've had the same scenario happen to me several times... one time my wheel lugs loosened up after one day (torqued them the previous day) and went trail riding, I thought I had shattered my wheel bearing from the noise I was hearing. But nope, just the lugs loosening up. :burnrubber:

    Sounds like a re-torque is in order for those after each removal.

    Those RW wheels have lug conical seats, no?

    Personally, I Iove the security of the OEM flange style lugs that Toyota is so fond of and has been since the 80s.

    :eek::eek2: that is scary.

    I would guess you have less chance of those marring up, though. Conical type lug seats can be wallowed out to ovals pretty easily. I'm guessing @FredB32 was saved by the hub centric nature of the wheels.

    Free mods are the best mods. Scored a 2021 trd pro skid plate from a buddy at no charge. Going to sand blast the tow hooks and respray them before they go back on the truck.

    Very well could be...it's not the first (nor second, maybe third/fourth?) time I've had a similar experience. The RW lugs are kind of weird and unique...I'm not sure why they seem to want to do this. I have several torque wrenches and put them on at the proper spec too, but it might have been from recently having the tires rotated. I'm guessing that whichever kid they had do the work tried taking the beak locks off before realizing they don't need to come off for anything. One of the wheels is basically wrecked, paint flaking off all over. Even the special socket that came with the lugs doesn't fit very well and seems to scratch the wheels every time I use it...

    Drove it up to the family cabin in Northern, WI! This was the shakedown run for all of the things I have bolted to it - everything stayed put. She's ready to roll for my MT archery Antelope hunt over Labor Day!
