Installed these VLAND license plate lights which are crazy bright!

Unfortunately they interfered with my backup camera image in reverse

    98361CB7-4403-4C01-AC1E-0561F262FCE1.jpg

So then I found out about the DIR (disable wile in reverse) harness which was available for gen 1 and 2.5 tundras. Was able to work with @daveeasa to get a harness made that works with 2nd gens.

So I got that installed and it’s much better now that the license plates turn off while in reverse

Today I swung by the tire shop and picked up a used full size spare to replace my dry-rotted factory one.
At 295/70-18 I needed to remove these brackets to get the spare into the factory location.

They are stock. I’ll make my final decision on rear suspension after I level the front.

How hard is it to get those brackets out for spare?

Got a coil pack code last Tuesday. #5 was failing. I learned from my 1st gen Tundra not to replace them as they go out and not to replace them with other than OEM Denso. I had a couple of coil packs I bought in advance. My truck is at 220,000 miles and that's about when my 1st gen packs began to die. So I installed one of the packs from my stock and ordered the other six from a trusted source. Installed the remaining seven packs today. Pretty easy on the driver's side. Had to take the airbox out to access the #2 cylinder pack. The remaining went it easy.

The bummer of waiting until they go out to replace is that until they all die and get replaced, you can be almost anywhere when one dies. then it's limp home or worse. Even after you have them all replaced, they are staggered and will die that way when the time comes. It just delivers a more reliable vehicle to swap them all at once. Also, if you buy them from Vatozone or the like, you will likely be getting a Chinese copy. I did that with one on my 1st gen. It died at 20,000 miles. Yeah.

I got mine in as well; yesterday. Afterward I did some preventative maintenance on a small trailer that I picked up thirdhand. By the time that I left work where I did the install I had pretty much completely forgotten about having installed the sway bar. Not 50 yards down the road on the first 15 mph corner I could tell that it was different from the Sequioa bar that I had just removed. I dropped the trailer at home and headed to the grocer. The first curve on the interstate was better as well. The initial turn-in seems like a smidge more effort is needed to initiate and the vehicle feels flatter throughout the maneuver. We have a ton of roundabouts locally and there's slightly less body roll there as well. The rear TRD sway bar offers the greatest improvement, the front Sequoia bar a bit of additional improvement over the stock front bar, and the TRD a slight improvement over the Sequoia bar, from my perspective. YMMV. :hattip:

    Installed Fox 2.5 c/o w/ Dirt King Uca’s.
Waiting on the 2.0s for the rear to come in the mail. Then plan on adding amp steps and 295/70/17 Nitto Trail grapplers w/ 17x9 Summit wheels.

Pretty similar setup to what I have. You’re going to love it.

P.S. You are always welcome to hang out in the coolest thread ever, especially since you have the fastest color, but here is the one for all the 2.5gens.

Yeah it’s nice having the whole package now front and rear. I can feel it handles a bit better and a bit less body roll. Worth the money imo

Fixed up my driver side front tire, that had a small Brad nail stuck causing me to lose psi every week.

Jr. And I fixed it up using a $2 tire plug kit. 1st time doing it, was fun figuring it out. Jr and I had fun. :)

Yes - the spare tire guides.

    Grind them or air chisel?

If you are trying to remove them, I think most guys just take an angle grinder with a cut off wheel and cut them off as close as possible, then you can take a flap disk and grind it smooth and flush with the support (then hit it with some paint and you’re done)

Got a BlueDriver OBD-II reader. 2012 Tundra, 126k miles: no codes. Handy device. Exceeds expectations. I should plug it in to a BMW or Chevrolet to give it a real work out.

    Installed new plugs...
    07TundraPlugs.jpg

    They looked ok.
I did find oil in a couple of the plug tubes, one had a good amount.
I ordered a FelPro valve cover gasket set that will have new seas in it. As well, I ordered a sparkplug "boot kit" because I lost one of the coil seals. I looked for over an hour for it.

I also did the last test I could find for checking the front wheel bears, trying to run down the loud "humming/howling" at 45-50 mph. Front wheel bearing seem to be in order, nor to check the rears.

Found the squeek. Anti rattle clip had come loose and was slowly carving away at the inside of my rock warrior rims. :eek2:

Little bit of bending and had it figured out.

Be careful buying plugs online, there are a lot of counterfeits that look just like the real thing.
