What have you done to your 2nd gen Tundra today?

Sick truck! What rear front bumper? U make em?

 

Nothing exciting.

Engine oil change, gear oil change in the transfer case. Synthetic oil all the way around, Mobil 1 for the engine and full synthetic Mobil 1 and Valvoline synthetic (Auto parts store was limited on inventory) for the transfer case. Engine oil looked good, no glitter, no water, no fuel contamination odor. Gear oil from transfer case also looked good: only slightly darker than honey, clear, no particles, no foul odor. Probably didn’t need to be changed.

Inspected the under carriage. Topped off the radiator and coolant reservoir.

No oil leaks detected, no coolant leaks or seepage on the water pump. Might be time for a coolant flush and new hoses soon though.

Front CV boots looked good. Shocks are about at the end of service life and brake pads will need to be replaced by fall, at which point I’ll bleed the brakes etc.

I will do a gear oil change in front axle once I get rid of all the other waste oil I have.

Just regular old non sexy preventative maintenance.

 

I think PM is sexy.

 

Ordered some new dogs that match headlights better. Output looks poor, will have to see how they look at night before I decide if I’m going to keep them or not

Passenger side is 5k hid in oem housing and driver side is the new led

 

Bought mine a lexus RCF 5.0 . Should be a fun build.

 

Got both fogs in and tried to aim them some.

Light output at night seems ok enough to keep them for now. May swap them out down the line, but will give them a try for now

 

Also installed some new taillights. Will need to upgrade my reverse lights now.

 

Thanks, I did make them. I’m a welder/fabricator in Vail CO. I’ve had my truck for 12 years, always adding and taking away.

 

teased my Tundra with my Tires that arrived, waiting on the rims to show up now.

 

Some of my final pieces for my LT build just showed up on my door step.

Yes please. Need an alternative to vleds.

Vleds were my go to, but man they’re pricey. I haven’t bought from them in several years and their prices have gone wayyyy up since when I last purchased from them!!

 

When I got the reverse I believe they were $60, and I think their prices have stayed the same… however they might just be rebranded. If I remember right, someone on this forum was able to find identical looking LEDs on Amazon

Got my 285/70R17 Cooper STT Pro's and17x8.5 +25 Icon Rebound Pro's mounted and balanced and installed.

 

Changer strut, still drops kind of fast but slower than before ..



still struggling to program my module .. but it got dark and late so gotta wait till tomorrow morning to triple check my connections

 

the remote start is awesome. I love mine.

 

This is what I used for mine. $25 off eBay

 

Replaced the wood-grain bezels off of my limited with the gray ones off of a SR5 model. Also, had the wood-grain on the climate control panel covered up with some black vinyl. Just ordered the color matched door handles and mirror caps.

 

Toyota loves putting a menagerie of finishes on these trucks. Always fun sorting it out for personal preference.

 

Does your truck not have the oe one in the tail light cavity? Is it worn out?

Mine still does a decent job. I mostly just like that it won't let my tailgate slam down when I let go of it. It's nice until I open the tailgate on someone else's truck. Bam!

 

Done this a couple times as well.

The soft open is one of my favorite Tundra features, but it does kind of train you not to think about it
