You never know when you might need to do epic battle with ghosts..... or maybe zombies. But actually, I'm just slowly building my truck out for off grid camping. The only current use for the inverter is towing my parents' travel trailer and if there is no electrical I can run a full 30amp RV plug out of my truck.

I am about to do the BMC, with relentless fabrication plates.

I used the front tow hook and hi-lift jack with wheel straps. It severely bent the Toyota splash shield in the process but it’s whatever at this point, I just want full turn radius and for this not to fall on me. I lowered the jack to rest on the support stands but there has to be a better than this.

I’ll post after pics unless I do a terrible job, then I will delete this post.

i should be getting new tires and wheels soon, as I was notified yesterday that they are in stock and getting ready to ship….

Idk if I previously mentioned this but I’m a keyboard warrior for my day job and have been watching welding videos and bought one about 6 months ago and been practicing on my lawn mower. (the other American way lol)

I only did one side today bc I have time and plan to do the other side tomorrow.

I did a few tack welds and hammered the gaps into place, then I just tried to fill it all in, adjusted the heat settings a bit, let it cool, flap disc, spray paint.

Also, I ordered black Color Lugs to cover these lug nuts but after looking at them they seem kinda small and weak. Do you fellas think my nuts are too small or will I be ok?

I swapped out the climate controls today with a unit from eBay. I cleaned it up the best I could but after I got it open I noticed what looked like water inside the electronics. I ended up swapping the 4 black knobs and faceplate to my controls.

It has been 20” on 37x13.5 and I’ve been rubbing the cab mounts.

any day now I will have 17” on 37x13.5.

previously my focus was interior but I want to be able to do some off roading so I’m trying to improve off-road capabilities aka I want a winch next bc that’s what we do in Florida where I live, get stuck in mud and pray a tree is close enough.

Had my pro-tinter buddy repay me for a job with an (almost) free tint job. Ceramic tint front/rear/and back glass. 15% all around. Rear windows ended up at about 4% per his meter after tinting over factory smoked windows.

Getting ready for summer temps in Florida. Tint (ceramic specifically) makes a huge difference with the heat.

Went to help a single lady friend of ours with a flat tire this afternoon and my dash lite up like a Christmas tree on the way over there.

Flashing 4hi, 4lo, and solid Trac and ABS. From what I can find it looks like one of the wheel sensors is having an issue (my cheapie code reader didn't pull a code). Tried disconnecting the battery for a bit but that did nothing.

Soooooo, instead of golfing tomorrow I'll spend my day crawling around under the truck changing the oil (due anyway) and trying to track down my problem.

Start by pulling your codes. There is also a chart floating around somewhere that can tell you what code it may be based on which lights are on/flashing. I had a similar flash and it turned out to be running lean due to bad fuel pump.

How many miles on your truck? Could be a bad shift solenoid. My 07 at 180k just kicked the "S4 shift solenoid" it presented all the lights you are describing with a p0983 code. Ended up dropping the pan replacing solenoid and refilled. No issues since.
If you search in the 2nd gen forum "shift solenoid" a few other members have had the same issue a little bit ago.

Good luck brotha :hattip:. I’ve had wonky lights on mine too but a battery disconnect did the trick.

Hmmm... Everything I found so far for, those exact lights/sequence, point to ABS sensor or harness issues. My neighbor has a good SnapOn code reader (apparently my reader sucks) and will bring it over at lunch tomorrow. If it's a sensor it should be throwing a co210, co215, etc

    Truck has 125k

Most of those cheapie code readers are engine codes only. Toyota likes to light every Xmas tree light up for a problem. I bought an CEL + SRS and ABS capable Innova just for this.

    Thanks.

I guess I should also mention the truck runs just fine. No stall, no limp, no speed restriction, etc... Runs like it always does, just a lit up dash.

    Thanks for that.

I may just go ahead and do the TechStream thing. I have an old, unused laptop I can load it on, and the Mrs has a Lexus, so it could come in handy.

I see you are driving a 2010 truck. So.... how many miles are on your truck? Is your alternator original? How old is the battery? I had a Tacoma that had the dash light up like Christmas when my alternator decided it was ready to be replaced. Just curious.

As far as what I did.... I hit a milestone for me. Not bad for a 2012 Tundra.

Threw on some GP Audio battery terminals - these things are beefy! The positive is stuck out to the side because the + connections for the truck don't have any slack. Might look into that later and see if I can make some slack and tuck the terminal over the battery like it is on the - side. These will be handy when I eventually add my compressor (that has been sitting in my closet for 3 years) and possibly a winch. My only gripe is that the bolts are massive, so I had to drill out all of the terminals (on the truck and sPOD) to fit.

Also threw in some Tacklewebs cup holders on the driver side, passenger side, rear passenger console and rear seat storage area. All the chalk bag cup holders on the 2.5 threads gave me this idea. I originally bought a couple of these for my fishing boat and I loved them - so I gave them a try in the Tundra. Very easy install, it is secured with Velcro. Peel off the backing and stick it wherever you have a flat surface. Perfect for cans, bottles, Yeti's, phones, wallets, ect. - always nice to have additional storage!

Did the last side (passenger) BMC this morning.
Drove it to Wendy’s, and didn’t grind one bit as I made multiple 3 point turns for fun.

Hopefully I don’t have to round off the new tires like I did the current ones.

I tacked it pretty well and then really pounded on the plates to try to bend them back as much as I could, finished welding, flap disc, paint

Installed a custom secondary air injection pump relocation kit using home depot and autozone parts, saving myself around $350.

Then I installed my bushwacher fender flares and make sure it would eat my paint by using some clear M3 tape.

The secondary air injection pump relocate kit works and the truck handled everything like a champ. I don't see a need to regear, 4 low worked great on the spots when needed.

Then to finally test put my ironman4x4 suspension and the 35s, I took the truck up to Black Mountain OVH trail.

End result, the secondary air injection pump relocation works and the suspension held up like a champ.

Crawled under the truck to check the u-joints and support bearing, as I'm getting a hum/growl" at times.
U-joints seem to be solid...there is some up and down play in the carrier/support bearing ruber. More than I think ought to be there.
I did notice, that when I pushed up and down on the rear drive shaft portion, it sounds as if there is something moving inside of it.
I believe there is some play in the slip joint, and sounds like ther is NO lube in there.
I plan to R&R the carrier, and I may just check the feasability of instaling a grease fitting on slip joint and then I can lube it through the fitting.
