I’ve been all over Austin during all of this. Not a single issue. I spent my first 50 years in Amarillo, so I am very accustomed to driving in this (and worse). I moved to Austin last year. Most people here are dangerous lunatics in this stuff though. They never get exposed to driving in conditions like this, and I get that, but some people are just ridiculously stupid in this.

My 2011 has been a champ in the Snowpocolypse/Snovid event.

Nothing fancy or as aggressive as some. Pathfinder LT305/55R20’s. They performed extremely well.

Decided to slowly accumulate components for a stereo upgrade. Eventually everything will be upgraded with the following (not set in stone, so if you have better suggestions without blowing up the budget, please chime in and give me your recommendations):

    1. Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX - it's got pretty much everything I would need and the bonus of having wireless phone connectivity.
    2. Rockford Fosgate R2-750X5 - 5 channel amplifier with 50 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms + 350 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms
    3. Infinity Reference REF-6530cx - main speakers in the front doors and tweeters in the dash
    4. Infinity Reference REF-6532ex - speakers in the rear doors
    5. Rockford Fosgate P3SD2-10 subwoofer in a custom box under the rear seat. Not sure yet on whether a ported box or enclosed.

The 6532ex speakers arrived today. Will start designing the woofer box next.

Got a side pic? Nice truck. Can you share a bit more info on rims, offset, and or spacers? I like the stance of the truck.

Thank you! I bought this truck in Oct. 2019. To my knowledge, the suspension is unmodified. The wheels are 20” BBS wheels that came stock on the 2011 Texas Edition’s. The tires are what the previous owner was running, so when it came time for a new set, I replaced with the same set. I love the way they ride and handle. It does not feel like driving a pickup most of the time.

i had to put nerf bars on it because it was a slight stretch to get in and out of it, even without it having any suspension lift (and my poor vertically challenged wife had a terrible time getting in and out of it. Lol).

i had a Kenwood DNX996XR installed along with Memphis MClass tweeters, 6x9’s, and 6.5’s. I am trying to save up for an amp and sub to complete that upgrade. (Nothing so powerful that it makes the neighbors wet the bed from 3 blocks away, but I would like the range, quality, and a slight punch that an amp and sub would provide and round out that setup). Some Morimoto XB headlights and fogs, and that would finish off my wishlist for this truck.

Bear in mind, my driveway has an incline.

Very nice  I may have to get some Texas edition badges, lol. Upgrading my bone stock stereo system myself. Are your 6x9's in the door or dash? The 6.5's I get, but the 6x9's must be a custom mount? I've got a build page where I'll be documenting the upgrades including an under rear seat sub box. Most likely a sealed box with a 10" Fosgate sub powered by a Fosgate amp. Building it with the subs specs as a guide. Not much room under there and I'm still in the air about down firing or into the seat. Leaning toward former.

Tires on my truck look cool, but not much fun on LA streets. Will likely swap them out for something a bit better suited for street driving. Oh, and the nerf bars? My wife is 5'3" and also has a hard time getting into the truck. What brand are they? Thanks for posting the pics so quickly. Ride safe.

Not much room for a sub in a DC..here was my best effort? Budget friendly though!

These are the nerf bars that I have.
    https://www.raptorseries.com/p-25-4in-curved-oe-style-oval-nerf-bars-black-e-coated.aspx

The 6x9’s are in the doors. I had a local conversion shop install the stereo, speakers, and nerf bars all at the same time. The nerf bars I could have done myself, but I wasn’t as interested in doing the stereo install on my own. In my younger years, definitely. But I’m older, stiffer, and less patient than I used to be, so I paid someone else to do it. And since I had the truck at that shop already, I had them install the nerf bars too. I got a good deal on all of it packaging it all together. I saw your list of your stereo build. VERY nice. Looking forward to hearing your review once you get it all together.

I drive mostly on pavement, and a lot of that can be in traffic, on toll roads or highways. I do haul trailers from time to time, usually horse trailers. I live in a rural area outside of the city proper, and the approach to my house is caliche.

I had the infinity reference in my tacoma. Now have the infinity kappa's in my tundra. The reference's were nice for a budget speaker, but I highly recommend the 50% extra for the kappa's. Both setups were with a cheap rockford power pack, but if you're getting a real amp, I can imagine those things would SING. At least give them a listen at an audio store and consider them. Highs are much clearer (they are LOUD), bass negligible if you're getting a sub, but ok for 6.5s/6x9s.

I don't think you can go wrong with either. But kappa is better, and for about $100 more in door speaker cost, IIRC

Tonight I installed a new LCA on the passenger side. My install of Dobinsons IMS coilovers, JBA UCA's, and LCA's is now complete! I also had to install a new ABS harness on the driver side. Totally unrelated to the lift install...I swear...okay fine, it was related to the lift install. Rides awesome! Alignment tomorrow.

Went to a local car stereo shop and listened to the Kappas. They were nice. The owner then turned on some 6.5 Focal Performance speakers, and I have to say I like those speakers better. It felt as if the stage was a bit wider and the highs cleaner. It was a noticeable difference. The price is maybe twenty or thirty bucks more, but for that I'll take the plunge. It's downright silly how far down the rabbit hole you can fall in the world of car stereos, lol.

Ah ha! I forgot to check Sequoias.

Looks like ‘18-‘20s came with a black dash and black shifter bezel. Part number 58805-0C130-C0

Man, nice find. Are they for sure interchangeable?

Funny. Cheapest Tundra grade cluster bezel with high class sequoia panel.

Wait, is the 2018+ sequoia cluster bezel different than the Tundra? Looks black in that pic, too.

Edit: nah, looks like the 2018 Sequoia cluster is a completely different setup unless there are different clusters for the different trim levels.

I can’t see why they wouldn’t be interchangeable.

You're gonna have to share your experience with those Dobinsons IMS. With 6112's out of stock with no end in sight, these found their way onto my radar. They have a really strong reputation among the other Toyota lines. Very curious on your thoughts

I just returned from a short snow bashing trip. I really put the hammer down a few times and I am impressed. I have no experience with 6112's but I have to say I really like the Dobinsons a lot. I drove a lot more spirited just to see what the truck would do. As I said before the ride is firmer. But the dampening is so much better. The trucks hits a bump or hole, soaks it up and then it's ready for the next hit. No rocking back and forth or fore and aft. This is how these trucks should come from Toyota in my opinion. If there is "better" suspension out there for these trucks I can tell you right now I do not need it. I am blown away and I've only done the front. I can only imagine what it'll ride like when I do new leafs and shocks in the rear. Soon.

Sorry, but I can't make heads nor tails out of the above conversation about the fitment of the black console???? It fits? It doesn't fit? I was gonna paint mine black, but I can pick that one up at my local dealer for $75. For that price I'll buy it if it fits. Maybe someone with a 2018 Sequoia can pull it and take detailed underside pics and post them here?

I can’t promise it will fit, but I don’t see any reason it wouldn’t. The rest of the console and dash look exactly the same to me.

Just finished my sound deadening project. Did the entire floor and back wall of my double cab. Took me about 6 hours start to finish. Hardest part was removing the rear seat if the double cab and the middle seat belt.

take your time, pull wire harness clips, they will go right back in after the mat is laid. Same with under seat vents, I also used some foil ducting tape as I realized the weak connection for the vents to the rear from under the front seats.

Rebadging in progress. I probably should have waited for warmer weather. It was in the 40's in the shade.

I did the driver's side with cheap 50 lb line and a heat gun. The heat gun has 1-7 heat settings. With 1 not drying your hair to blistering at 7. Also using some generic drill attachments meant for cleaning bathroom tile.

Anyway I am stopped. Untill I get the 3M wheel. Can anyone help me out? I can't find the right wheel. IMG_20210221_121855.jpg IMG_20210221_121855.jpg IMG_20210221_125447.jpg
