What have you done to your 2nd gen Tundra today?

Please tell me all those locks are keyed the same.... Otherwise, that would drive me nuts.

 

lol yes definitely keyed the same. Came in a four pack but now I think I want black locks

 

I just kinda half ass taped it up, and it’s factory touch up paint. Comes in a little tube and the cap has a built in brush. Just did 3 coats split a half hour apart. Turned out alright.

 

Hahaha, didn't think of that. I want to paint mine TRD Red, if I can even paint match. Maybe Radiant Red is close. Gotta research . Thanks

Started fabbing a hybrid bumper.. should get to the tube work this week coming. Pretty stoked on it so far.. goal is to be the slimmest bumper possible that will accept a winch

If all goes as planned, I will be outside working on my RCSB without a mask. The door panels are coming off so I can install new side mirrors, new courtesy light lenses with LED lights, and a new arm rest cover on the drivers side.

The old courtesy lights still work, but they had discolored.



One of my methods to prevent air whistling by the mirror bolts.



The other is to make sure the mirrors have that thin weather strip you see pictured here.



The cab is much quieter now.

 

Swapped my 08 round body taillights for a set of 10+. Looks better to me.

 

Got some maintenance parts installed. New brake bleeder caps, exhaust gaskets, exhaust bolts and carrier bearing drop kit.

And some work around the yard, thanks to the Tundra.

 

Tore down a deck today and hauled it off. Will post pics tomorrow. It’s above my cab and I dropped some on the interstate to see the Guy behind me in his prius slam on the brakes.

 

oil change time ! 8QT of mobil 1 0w-20 and switched to aluminium housing for the oil filter housing. man it's nice to have the RCI engine plate. no need to remove the skid plate anymore.

@Sabata what is your wheel and tire set up? Thats a pretty nice offset considering the fender flares, very similar to mine since I think I have the same fender flares.

 

I did this a while back when I first got my hands on the truck. It's just a simple sleeping platform that has three sets of lights controlled by the switch panel on the left. There's also a dual USB charging port and a 12V cig lighter socket on the same switch panel. Lights on the lid are just simple Amazon LEDs, same as the under platform lights. The shell top lights are an LED light strip with a dimmer control on the left for getting the lights lower when I sleep in the back. This was my first wiring project and I think it went well!

 

I guess I didn't realize they changed the rear lenses at some point. They look "Fresher"

 

It looks like you painted black to match some of the grill surround. Looks great

 

So what’s your opinions should I color match the new grille or leave it black ?
it’s kind of cool the pearl that is in the factory black matches the blue of the truck what y’all think

 

looks great. freshen up the front for sure. I would leave it as is. You can always paint it later if you wanted it.
where did you order the grille ?

Hey! how's it going ? my tire setup is 33x12.5R22 with 1.5" offset. There mud tires with 3" leveling kit in the front.

 

I my try red overlay on the Toyota Letters or at least maybe red outline

 

No today, but yesterday....ordered the 18" RCI bed rack. Stoked! Mostly will be used for canoe transport but so many other options....will end up getting the mountain bike tray that goes with the rack as well.

I loved switching over to the aluminum oil housing and RCI skit plate. Makes everything so much more sturdy!
