So I keep meaning to document all the work I've done on my 07 so far. Some snippets include the new switch panel that I built for the bed, which includes three switches to control above head lights, under platform lights, and a tailgate light. I also added a 12V outlet and a dual USB port. Right now, the outlet is permanently on, so I'll add a switch to control that soon. The whole bed light system is wired directly into the truck's battery in the front.

I also added a 5% tint in the rear cab windows, and a 35% in the driver and passenger windows. The windshield also got a 50% tint.

Since I have the Rough Country lights with amber DRL's, I also added a fuse tap to the parking lights circuit so that my DRLs are always on. I used to have to remember to switch them on and off when done driving.

I also got rid of those wack hood mounted ditch lights that I mistakenly put in when I was anxious to get lights up. I got the CBI ditch mount brackets. I was originally expecting to need to heat up and mold some plastic trim, but to my surprise, I was able to mount it without any modifications. Today I just filled the holes in the hood with bondo and sealed them up.

The last photo is the 4ft storm we blasted through a few weeks back near Tahoe. Always driven a subaru in the snow so it was a great learning experience to travel over 6 moving hours in the snow and getting a feel for how the truck reacts in 2 and 4wd.

Since the quarantine is here full throttle, I've got a pair of lifted toytec coilovers and an AAL arriving tomorrow. I also splurged and picked up some Morimoto housings so this is going to get real good soon!

Hoping to also get dirty life 18x9 -12 with the BFG ko2 34.5x12.5 on this thing soon to get it more of a stance and increase its performance in rough terrain. But that's another 2 grand that I've got to get together somehow...

I put in 2010-2013 tail lights, I think they look much better than the 2007-2009 round ones.

I got the rack on the truck to check dimensions before welding it out. I’m very excited on this project :)

Had to fix the bracket on my DIY tailgate actuator. I used the bracket that came with my actuator and it obviously is too thin, lasted about a year.

I went on a drive this weekend. Maybe I shouldn't have with the lockdown and everything, but I drove to California. On the way back, heavy rain which turned into lots of snow at Donner Pass. I'm really glad I got new tires put on before making the trip!! The snow broke the rivets holding the front of the gas tank skid guard (silly plastic thing anyways) but I didn't have any sockets to remove the 2 bolts holding it in. The picture shows only one side with broken rivets, but later on, the other side came off too. Anyone want to donate a new gas tank skid plate? ;)

I'd love a new RCI plate! Probably just powdercoated steel to match the front skid plates, but it's just not in the budget for now.

Alright, so here's the work I've done in the past few days:
    • Installed Deaver AAL and replaced rear TRD offroad bilsteins with Bilstein 5100 rear shocks
    • Installed SPC UCA and Toytec/Eibach complete 3" lifted coilovers
    • Installed Toytec diff drop plate

Overall, I would rate the install process as medium to tough difficulty. Although there were a lot of tutorials and videos on the install, unforseen problems definitely came up. For example, fitting the AALs in the rear required the use of several sets of c clamps to get the center pin bolt aligned. The diff drop in the front was a pain in the ass, mainly due to the nut that sits on top of the frame where the diff drop spacers get installed. I also had a tough time getting the OEM UCAs out, due to the long bolt and interfering tubes and hoses.

Prior to this my mechanical experience was limited to a single oil change and rotation of tires. So it is fair to say that I didn't really have any experience installing anything like this. But I guess if I can do it, anyone can (given the right tools).

The impact wrench that I bought prior to this definitely made things a lot easier. I couldn't imagine doing it without an impact. Total elapsed time of install (with help from my dad) was around 13 hours. And yes, the alignment is all screwed up. I got everything visually close but am taking it in for an alignment today.

nice truck bro. what front bumper is that and do you happen to have a side shot to show how far it extends out? i'm usually not a fan of aftermarket front bumpers but that one is cool.
