I don’t know about you guys, but there’s two things I can’t do without drinking a beer. Grilling out, and working in the garage.

Changed out all the interior bulbs with LEDs. Wow. I was expecting it to look a little better than it did, but it looks a LOT better. Also changed out the reverse lights with LEDs, but forgot to get a second pair for the ranch hand bumper, so another “trip” to Amazon for that.

Oh, and finally got around to ordering the Husky liners. Those are nice, too.

I count the amount of time I worked in the number of beers consumed. This was a quickie: a 2 beer job.

The LEDs are great. If not already add some red (not white) brake lights LEDs for better visibility.

I run 285/75/18 tires with stock gears..... been driving around in tow haul mode all week.... seems like a good combo so far with the larger tires. Holds the gears just long enough to get everything moving.

Actually, I got ahead of myself. My truck was in the body shop for so long over the holidays (38 days!) that I forgot where I was at in the OVTune process. I hadn't even sent in my ECU ID yet. Just did that today.

I'm working on the truck replaced interior, backup and bed lights with LED's. Making minor repairs, etc. Today I looked at the air filter which needs to be replaced. However the cabin filter looks like it can go a little longer. What do you think? Before you lambaste me this is a new to me 2007, I've only had for a few weeks and I've been working on it a little at a time, be kind to me.

    Need some mulch?

I ordered both filters yesterday then vacuumed and blew it out till I get the new one installed.

I also had to squeeze my big hands through that skinny filter gap to reach down and remove the leaves out of the fan.

Finally got around to installing the Wheelers Off Road bump stops in the front. I’m currently running a 2” leveling kit up front. The bump stops provide a really good level of compliance on heavy bumps; that’s at least my first impression after installing. Probably the more noticeable upgrade I’ve done so far in terms of overall suspensions compliance.

Started priming the new grille emblem. What do you guys think, flat black, flat black with thin red outline or flat black with thin white color matched outline? (The chrome bumper will eventually be color matched)

That would look neat, but id like to keep it as minimal popping as possible. The only reason i'm considering an outline is because its like a compromise, makes the badge stand out but not too flashy.

New to this site... went through every forum getting ideas for my truck and ended up doing a shit ton in the past 2 weeks. After going down the plasti dip black hole I finally decided to give it a shot. Made some other changes along the way. Big shout out to everyone on here who gave me all the ideas. Let me know your thoughts.

Here is my truck at the beginning when I bought it used.

In the past 2 weeks I banged out the following changes:
    • Went from 255 tires to 275 ALL TERRAIN
    • plastidipped front and back bumpers
    • plastidipped all badges
    • plastidipped wheels
    • tinted front windows to match the back
    • added black side steps
    • Added front bull bar with LED strip light
    • added pioneer head unit with apple play and back up camera
    • black seat covers
    • 2.5" front leveling kit

Great looking grill! Today I changed the diff oil front and rear to mobil 1, sea foamed the engine, cleaned throttle body, changed the oil and filter, and air filter, started on changing the plugs. Tomorrow the transfer case, the maf sensor, the rest of the spark plugs. Just got it back from timing belt/ water pump change, would you believe now some roller for the belt is squeaking. All this on a 2007 dc with 118K miles, so I knew the tb needed changing. Super clean---I have only had it 3 weeks. Mica sand color. Future projects--repair damaged trailer plug, AND GET HELP ACHIEVING BETTER LONG TERM FUEL TRIM. I am getting way less than advertised. Wouldn't be surprised to find an air leak somewhere, but you know Toyota pcm's--they still adjust to run great when imperfect. First post! bro.steve

Not today, but a couple days ago I added reverse lights. Got tired of not being able to see the driveway entrance when I back in at night.

Nice. I have a set of single row LED pods that I've been sitting on. Can't make myself cut out the rear bumper.

I previously did the square pods on my 4runner. Ran it to a switch to use them as auxiliary or reverse lights.
