I hear that it's not fun. But I know some guys that have 800 dollar payments. Hey I used to live I'm Fitchburg MA. My wife wants to move to mass but I say nope lol. Although i could get a job there fast I'm a plumber and she is a medical research specialist who has had offers at Harvord.

I'm getting out of mass when I can afford it. probably moving up to Maine when I turn 21. Mass is starting to turn into California a bit too much and I'm not liking it. They're going after airsoft and paintball right now trying to regulate them more

I'm also living at home. hence the wait on the move to Maine. definitely could not be having as much fun as I am if I had my own apartment. Only $200 for rent at my parents house so compared to an apartment anywhere else in mass I've got it easy

It was time for a new battery, some new terminals, and I switched up the wiring for my accessories a little bit. I probably should have covered the hot points on the breaker a while ago...

Installed the remote starer - plug n play...

cleaned up the battery connectors (corroded) with some baking soda / hot water / wire brush...

nice being able to start the truck and have the A/C running for a few minutes before entering...or the heat in the winter.

There is a "group buy" on this site for the tech 12v solutions - 199 https://www.shop.tech12volts.com/product.sc?productId=537&categoryId=59

Works great for the 2nd Gen "G" Key (my 2010 is a G key) - the newer 3rd Gen had to "tap" 1 wire...but the 2010 G key is plug and play

gotta remove some panels and get at plugs that aren't so easy to get to (like the TPMS sensor plug)...remove the drivers leg airbag (not hard) to access the OBD II connector...steering column shroud to access the ignition, and a couple of other ones. Time consuming, and a little contortionist maneuver in the passenger seat..

Took a bit over an hour to complete (having never done ANYTHING like this)...and a little longer - closer to and 1.45 hours as I was dealing with cleaning some corrosion on the battery terminal before I could start the installation (don't want the airbag going off - lol). but not "HARD" - and quite satisfying.

press the lock button on the remote 3 times...starts...runs for 15 min (or so) then shuts off...or, if you unlock and get in (press the unlock button or use key) turn the key to "on" and drive away...press the brake without the key turned to "on" - shuts the car off...

I would recommend this product. Does exactly what is advertised, for a reasonable price.

Replaced the spark plugs in the beast. Was at ~123600, but the plugs still look pretty decent. Took my calipers to a couple of them that I took out and the gaps were within 0.05 inches of the set gap. Quite a testament to their true longevity! Replaced them with NGK Ruthenium HX plugs (LFR6AHX-S, 94122).

I do have a question based off of something I noticed though, on the passenger side of the engine the middle two plugs had oil on them (can be seen in the pics)? That doesnt seem normal, but is it an issue?

I had my local dealer repair the cruise control on my '07... while they were at it they swapped out the original steering wheel for a like new one I purchased last year. The cruise was non-functional when I bought the truck.

    Very nice.

    Pardon my ignorance.

What is the little black box with the yellow lever?

Is this part of a dual battery setup and you use the lever to switch between batteries?

That appears to be the 100amp fuse (with toggle on/off switch) which supplies power to the aftermarket fuse box next to it. You’re correct about it looking like a dual battery set up, in that case you’d run the fat red wire to your second battery instead of to the fuse box.
