Well, I'm 58, not 40, but suffered the torn tendons during a road bicycle get off, so I'm still pretty active. The surgeon told my wife that my overall fitness and condition of the shoulder, (everything but the tendons), would help greatly with the recovery. Like was heard in Shawshank, we either get busy living, or get busy dying. I'll choose the former.

I have the JBL “Premium” system. Got the Tesla style HU installed a few months back, really enjoying it. That upgrade alone took the JBL audio system out of POS status. The factory JBL amp actually doesn’t sound bad at all once I installed the HU; the factory HU just doesn’t allow the factory amp to push enough watts to the speakers. The factory JBL speakers aren’t audiophile level by any means, but once they got more watts, and I added bass blockers to all (4) door midranges, they’re not bad at all. I’ll still probably upgrade my mids and tweeters though in the future using James at tech12volts, just broke now . Added (2) 10” subs (a JBL and an Infinity, which I found out from James is the exact same sub; Harman has two subsidiaries, JBL and Infinity), and a JBL amp rated at 1,000 watts RMS under my driver’s seat, and the system is now everything I expected.

Looking at getting this as well. How is the Maestro? what vehicle info is able to be displayed on the HU? Does the factory back-up camera still work?

I didn't get the iDataLink Maestro RR module... Yet. I'm planning on adding that at some point, and yes this head unit is compatible with the vehicle control features.

Hey, @Jim LE 1301 i am doing this mod and had questions. Did you have to trim off the ends of the boot so it didnt bunch up? How much?
And i didnt just pull up the silver surround, it is actually hard to get off cuz i want to line it with carbon fiber so i end up pulling up the surround attached to the black trim around it. Any ideas on getting them separated? I can take a pic but the tabs seem easy to separate but theres round knobs on the end that dont look like they are going to loosen up at all.
And have you taken the chrome surround around the cup holders? Whats the easiest way? Just pry up?

You can put a plug in there and be fine, I had one in the same area on another truck plugged it and went 40k until I needed new tires without issue.

Or plug it and swap with your spare tire out with the plugged one is another option, depending on what your mileage is.

Just a Bed Rug and Snugtop XTRA Vision
A week late as I was busy having two bouncing baby gallstones. Went into labor last Monday morning as I was getting ready to go to the shop to get my new Snugtop XTRA installed. Three days at Kaiser Hilton. Felt well enough to get it put on today. Looks nice. The locking mech on these looks much nicer than the simple round bar that locked the old Highliner on the 2002 I had before. I would have taken an interior shot but I just had to get back upstairs and into bed. I am counting my blessings that I didn't get sick last weekend as I was in the Mojave desert on a three day mini vacation. Felt well enough to wash the under carriage, vacuum and wipe down the interior on Sunday when I got back and was going to hit the exterior Monday but that never happened.
Now I can mount my toolbox and fire extinguisher to the rail maybe next weekend.
I had a Bedrug put in a month ago when I ordered the cap so it looks very capable as a basic camping 'tent' with one of those tent covers that extend around the tailgate and open rear window that I see on Amazon.

@2010bigdog went to some bike trails and when I was putting the bike in tailgate (since my bike rack was full) it smashed my finger and I dropped it down and it scratched the body.

No trimming on the boot, tuck the extra down into the shifter the shifter cover will hold it in place.

Just pull them apart, its's hard just pull. Post a picture to make sure we are talking the same.

Haven't gotten to the cup holders yet, that's next. I'm assuming you just pry/pull it up.

Yes the cupholder chrome trim just prys up. It comes up very easily. Much easier than the whole block piece that gotta come up yo get to the shifter trim.

The chrome around the cup holders just pops up. Use pry tools if you have them be careful it’s really soft and easy to leave a mark. I popped that out easier than the shifter trim. Which I haven’t popped out successfully yet.

Looks like your cap is hanging pretty far over the side of the bed - slightly covering the TRD sticker. Is it rubbing the paint?

Got another piece of the puzzle delivered today. Not bad, from the time Dave, Kevin, and I think we figured it out, Dave's goodies sent to me on Thursday and in my hands on Saturday. Here's his bumper shim kit and the hardened grade 8 hardware. Hopefully with a little further modification I'll be able to get use out of both .25" shims on each side, for a total of 1/2 inch additional bumper end clearance. I'm hoping with this addition, I'll either not need to cut the bumper ends and liners at all, or if still needed due to suspension compression it'll be minimal cutting needed.

Again, nothing too crazy, another small, but significant piece of the puzzle. With this addition, I'm hoping it won't be too long from here to put it all together.
    20190223_175819.jpg

Only thing still needed is I gotta go to home cheapo and get some 3/8 nylon nuts. That and pick up my wheels from getting Artic Coated Thursday night.
