Awesome. One of these days I'm going to take a whack it too. 9 hours huh? @Relentless did his on his lunch break. Lol

Yeah, I'm challenged....lol. I'm glad to hear he got his done so quickly. Building high end furniture is a little more my thing.

So I'm sure this is a stupid question, but I'm ignorant when it comes to paint/body work.

Is there a reason the stock chrome bumper ends can't be prepped for color matched paint? Seems like everyone wants to order new ones to have them matched but they're crazy expensive.

    Etching a possibility?

Paint doesn't bond well to chrome. The etching primer works well on plastic chrome like the grille but sanding is still necessary. I sprayed my bumper ends and the bond is tenuous at best. I sprayed my grille and hood bulge too and it stuck really well. I've seen a lot of bumper ends powder coated and that seems to be the best solution though some shops won't powder coat over chrome.

No you're not challenged, I'm sure most people take that long or longer. Relentless is just not human. Bet he can't build furniture as fast as you though.

Those look good. I like 'em without all the visible bolts, a cleaner look, IMHO.

i was wondering what it would look if it was color matched. looks pretty good. not sure if i can convince the wife right now to let me drop $600 on a grill. especially when i'm looking into getting a cover for the bed and a console safe.

I understand that. I did a lot of add on stuff I wanted before going appearance. If those are things you want I'd do them first. You have a more than functioning grill now, you know what I mean.

Haha, right. Next will be a headlight retrofit for sure. I'm trying to sell one of my camera lens' that I never use, and if so, I'll be placing that order. Otherwise it will probably be sometime after the new year. Other things include: Cold air intake, upgrade exhaust, driver side "OhS**T" handle, Spyder tail lights, leather steering wheel wrap, etc...

I haven't looked to much into it, but I'm either getting the TRD Pro or the K&N. The TRD looks cool but more expensive. I know K&N is awesome, so I may go the cheaper route.

You already have a CAI. I've not read anything good about after market ones except what the manufacturers claim. A TRD CAI would be cool. I've read about problems with tuners and CAI's too. Just my .02. Just trying to help, it is your truck after all.

I had K&N on my Tacoma it was pretty good i been looking at some CAI for the tundra i like the trd mostly for looks from what i have read it really doesn't help much at all but i did see these other intakes from S&B they have a ton of good reviews from what i read about them is they actually add about 2-3 mpg and give you some HP the trd one didn't seem to have any decent reviews @TTU19

Well the K&N claims to guarantee a 7-10HP gain. TRD one says 8HP. Who knows actually how accurate those are. Overall, either one would help a lot to let the whole thing breathe.

*Anyone else who has done this already, please feel free to give your experience.

Doesn't list any hp numbers but it does claim 49.5% more air flow. more flow more hp. I noticed that with my exhaust and the intake my truck does have more snort to it. I had the exhaust on by itself and after the intake I feel it had more power and I started getting better mileage
