Finally got off my lazy ass and did the rear diff breather mod. Thanks @csuviper and @dcsleeper408 for the great write up. Btw, the Torx bit for the tailight is a T30 and the union at the dealership was like $12.

Those swaybar U-bolts right side do look loose. Good eye Ron !!!!!!!! Love how so many people pay attention to detail. Those eyes could save some real damage. Good job and love that color truck Harry .

It looks like those are only available in chrome from Toyota. You'll have to do a custom job on that, like a wrap or paint, to get it black.

I installed my @salex OCD tray for my center console. The tray and the organizer are a great combo. What a difference!

It really doesn't hang more than 1" below the pumpkin. My pic is on an angle because I had the rear up on ramps to give me a little clearance installing it. I really could have installed without the ramps, though. But on level ground, the right and left fracked hang below the axle but the lowest point is at the pumpkin. I'll try to get some more pics today so you can see what I mean.

Thanks for the info! I'm not really worried about the clearance, just wondering if you noticed a difference in the way the truck feels with it on while cornering, etc.

As far as handling is concerned, it does improve handling quite a bit, especially on cornering and even changing lanes. I like it a lot and wold say its definitely worth it.

Sorry, I read your question wrong the first time...

Thanks guys. From everything I hear, the sway bar sounds like a good investment. If it makes the truck handle better, it makes the truck safer IMHO.....

Plus it's red, which is pretty cool.

Since having one on my own truck, I think it was worth every dollar. Even the wife noticed how much impact it was. Really reduced any body roll.

Finally got my bike mounts put on, which were on the Tacoma. Now no more excuse why I can't take the bikes out for a ride.
Used spare parts from my Extang Tonneau to help mount them into place on the bed rails.

I believe they all can be added, but none come as stock with any selected trim level.

Yup, what @Krezz said. Sometimes the dealers add on TRD goodies like the TRD rear sway bar, which is bright red. The color stands out so I think you would know if it was on there. Hellwig makes a rear sway bar which is black, that wouldn't stand out so much.

I just went with the TRD, but I colored mine Blue because of my black and blue theme, so red would cause me issue :annoyed:

I really noticed the difference going over speed bumps at my local shopping center today. A lot less sway side-to-side.

There is never a time where a seatbelt isn't necessary. Just sayin I've seen too many unrestrained dead bodies to not put mine on. The only thing I will agree with you on is if your dog rides upfront.

here's a little reading for everyone. the synopsis of a research by conducted by Dr. William F. Donaldson III of University of Pittsburgh and colleagues. (this only focus' on C-spine injuries, and doesn't even begin to get into facial trauma caused by unrestrained passengers during an airbag deployment which by the way causes an incredible amount of damage or ejection/partial ejection)

[Using a Pennsylvania trauma database, the researchers identified crashes resulting in injuries to drivers and front-seat passengers from 1990 to 2002. The study included approximately 12,700 patients with spinal injuries--8,500 drivers and 4,200 passengers. Of these, 5,500 patients had fractures of the cervical spine.

The rate of cervical spine fractures was 54 percent in drivers using an airbag only, compared to 42 percent for drivers using both an airbag and seatbelt. With adjustment for other factors, the relative risk of cervical spine fracture was 70 percent higher for drivers using an airbag without a seatbelt, compared to drivers using both protective devices. This was even greater than the 32 percent increase in cervical fracture risk for drivers using neither an airbag nor seatbelts.

Among passengers, the risk of cervical fracture plus spinal cord injury was nearly seven times higher for those using an airbag without seatbelts (compared to both protective devices). For both drivers and passengers, women were about half as likely as men to be injured using an airbag alone.

After reaching the trauma center, patients who used an airbag only had higher injury severity scores. They also spent more time in the intensive care unit and more total time in the hospital.

Automobile airbags were shown to be highly successful in reducing injuries resulting from frontal collisions, reducing fatality rates by about 20 percent compared to seatbelts alone. Airbags were specifically designed to be used with seatbelts--serious injuries may result in victims who, because they are not properly restrained by seatbelts, are "out of position" when airbags deploy.]

Haha. Good to hear. The 3M adhesive liners were an added bonus I didn't know about. Prevents things from sliding and making noise.

Update: Black Polane. This is how it should look from the factory. Next up is the chrome around the shifter base and if I can figure out how to remove the round chrome vent rings on the dash.

    2024 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition
Harry, what steps did you use to prep it prior to painting? I read somewhere that another member soaked theirs in bleach to remove the chrome first, then mildly roughed the surface with Scotch Brite before painting. Did you do any of this prep? Looks really good. My wife complained about the glare of the sun on our first trip in the Tundra. I'd like to do something like this too. Thanks
