What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

According to the company, it will bond with any coating or sealant. I put it on maybe a half hour after the Hydro2. I got a lot of remarks today about how reflective it looked.

As u can probably see already, I love seeing some BD lights, as u can tell I can't get enough of them. Damn Jay that does look S&S sick and slick. So you're saying I can get my paint to look even better than this? This is right after just using the foam cannon with some chem guys honeydew soap to clean up and reveal the artic coating I already got applied.

 

New to Tundras.com, been reading this forum for 2 weeks and finally finished! Alot if great mods do e to your trucks, I now have a long list to begin!

I don’t know how much better it will look since yours is already ceramic coated. @Pudge and myself haven’t done the ceramic yet, and this combo made mine resemble the wet look of a coating.

I’ll say it certainly wouldn’t hurt, and the stuff is pretty cheap. I know with CQuartz, adding an occasional layer of Reload will help maintain it, and Beadmaker is advertised to work with any coating. Give it a shot, and let us know what you think. If it doesn’t make much difference, you could always use it on another vehicle.

I use a foam cannon with Honeydew myself pretty often. That’s one of the few Chemical Guys products I use regularly. Very good soap.

That bumper/skid setup is boss, reminds me of a 4x4 mag spotlight vehicle.

 

Tnx Jay, yeah not bragging but I don't think I could even imagine how the truck could look any better after giving the coating a cleaning. But hey, I also didn't think it would make as big of a difference as it did just getting the coating, it's a huge difference.

For tire dressing, when I'm not too lazy to do it, I use wax addict tyre feeder. I also use it on all my black plastic on the outside of the truck to bring back that new look when it begins to dull and fade to that dull whitish look. It's pretty amazing stuff and if you don't already use it, I highly recommend it. I posted a little while back some before and after shots showing the restoration of the original dark rich black.

I like it because the more you buff in the less shiny it looks. I included a before, after, and ideal look of how I like my tires. I dont like the wet slimy look shooting shit everywhere as they roll down street. But when I have the time it definitely makes the truck pop more imo.

 

Cant find link at work but I did a whole thread on this site called warning don't look unless you want to spend money. All info and install is there. If u want cliff notes it's southern style offroad slimline hybrid OEM bumper and a baja designs 30 s8 lightbar in driving pattern.

 

Those tires also look like this at times. Now u can probably see why I don't dress them up as much as I'd like to.

 

No real prep work is necessary. In this case, I washed it (I used Reset in this case, but your regular soap should be fine), applied Hydro2, dried, then applied the Beadmaker. The Hydro2 isn’t necessary, it’s just part of my routine. I feel like it adds longevity using both. If you have some, great, but don’t think you need it for the Beadmaker to work.

If you haven’t Iron x’d and clay barred in a while, it’d be a good time to do it. Your paint will pop more, but still not necessary. Mine was clayed in May.

As for how much you need, this is the one disadvantage to Beadmaker. Unlike other sealants like Reload, where you just mist it on, you’re supposed to really drench the paint with this. You’ll need to spray it on to the point that it’s beading up / running. Then you spread it on with a towel, then buff it with another.
My truck took about 3/4 of a 16 ounce bottle. My wife’s Sequoia took pretty much a whole bottle.

Luckily, it’s much cheaper than most sealants. Beadmaker runs about 33.00 a gallon, Reload is 220.00 a gallon. This offsets having to use so much more product.

No worries Mike, was a solid recommendation, totally surprised at quality for the price, I just wanted to move to a more OEM look and feel, there's like at least 3 members here who did it before me I could blame for that one lol. Jokes aside, ultimately mods are my own decision. I wish I could do half the stuff you and some others do here, you have a sick looking truck! I'm still gonna use that steering cover when we beach camp, like when I put covers on the seats because we often climb in wet/sandy/muddy.

Some amazing rides on this site, showcasing each one would definitely make a cool coffee table book.

Tnx buddy, hey ur truck is no slouch either. Even a base sr5 with zero mods is a great looking truck. My original plan was to buy the pro and do nothing since I loved it the way it looked stock. I'm still wrestling with trying to keep much of what makes it a pro.

Nope, but I’d have done the same. I try to spread the word when I find something great. I’ve tested several products against them over the last few months. Nothing comes close. I do use Meguair’s Tire Gel on my wife and daughters’ rides, because they prefer the shiny look.

Funny u say that bc anytime I drive by those guys I cringe and hold my breath. I've been that guy and will at least hold off at a stop sign when I got cars next to me. I've also been the guy driving and had guys continue on as if I wasn't even there. Once I heard rocks pelting off my vehicle so I jumped out stopped in street and had some not nice words for that guy ready to go nuts on him. He apologized so I relaxed jumped back in and took off. If there wasn't an apology I have a feeling I might have got in trouble that day.

 

I sure hope so bc I was pissed and jumped out with bad intentions after I heard a line like machine gun spray going right down the side and just keep going. Even with the apology I'm just glad I didn't notice any damage. Idk I have this big thing with respect, giving and definitely getting it. I try to always be respectful of people and their shit. When it's not returned it kinda sets me off lol.

While I agree with you guys, I’d like to point out an exception. When people on your street are having a party, and their guests are parked in front of your house with half their car on your grass, well that’s a great time to mow. In fact, it guarantees I’m going to mow whether it needs it or not.

Just clamped on my GatorTraxx cover. Tie downs are still accessable on the bedrails so I am pleased with that. I didn't realize how much space it was going to take up in the bed though

It's like that new show on fx "Mr in between" from what I've seen on commercials for it. He says people are assholes because people let them get away with it. Not him or me, I'm doing the world a favor lol.

It seems to me that the old school respect thing died not long after my generation. I'm 40, back then we played, get this, outside even on the street, we came home when the street light turned on, we handled our disputes with a good ol fashioned throw of hands, then we were friends a couple days later. My dad would whoop my ass if I ever disrespected an adult or got in trouble at school. It's crazy, if my 9 yr old acts up in school all the teachers come to the conclusion that he must be dealing with something. Instead of just be a dumb ass 9 yr old and showing off in front of friends. There must be something bothering him emotionally for him to act like that, they ask what he's dealing with instead of punishing him, they are trying to raise fruitcakes with no discipline. If I got in trouble at school for like disrespecting a teacher I was scared to death to come home bc I knew my ass was getting whooped. Kept me in line though. Kids nowadays dont have a healthy fear of their parents. Thats part of problem. The computer babysits them. That's all they know, all the nonsense they see online. They dont deal with real people in real life so they have no respect for others. Say whatever they want hiding behind the keyboard, no consequences. While I don't beat his ass, I still try to instill some of those old school principles in them.
