What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Totally agree, wish they were +45 offset.

 

Yeah if I did not already have the aftermarket shoes I would have spaced the PRO wheels to make it more aggressive.

I'm running them with a 1.25 spidertrax, so whatever that puts it at is a nice even with my fender flares look. If anything I wouldn't mind if they stuck out just a tad more, but definitely don't like the in too far look and I throw up in my mouth everytime I see someone with more of their tires sticking out the wheel well than in. Absolutely hate that look, think it looks stupid, and gotta be brutal on the components and handling, but hey, to each their own, their truck, their money, their look. Maybe I'm showing my age but seems like everytime I see a truck with a foot or 2 of wheel sticking out, seems like usually a young kid jumps out.

Although the rims ain't clean like last pics, they look even better with a little wax addict on the tire.

 

I went with the RW wheels because of the +50 offset which is still a little skinny.

 

You know you still have to come down and visit the deep south..

 

Awwww thanks Sean. But, I bet u don't love it as much as I do. Here, let's work on that with a couple more pics right after I cleaned it yesterday. Gotta say with the artic coating, washing it is a breeze, makes it even somewhat enjoyable for a guy who don't really look forward to washing ever, and damn does it look good after a wash, just soap and water makes it look amazing.

That coating gives it a nice dark reflective shine. It dont get any easier than 5 min just pressure washer, 5 minutes with the foam cannon, 5 min with pressure washer to rinse soap, and 5 min with electric leaf blower to dry. Filthy to beautiful in about a half. Some might say that's amazing. Got news for those, that's not even the best part. The way it keeps it from getting dirty in the 1st place is the best part. For a truck 1 step below black in showing dirt, I can go so much longer between needing a wash. Now when it rains instead of getting dirty, it's like I'm getting a free effortless wash.

 

It really looks great. I hope some day I can get my paint corrected and put a coating on. The ceramic gives the look I really wanna go for. That dark, deep shine. I have a blue truck so it looks really great cleaned up...then 2 days later its dirty. Some day I'll get it done

 

I had ceramic coating done at the dealer. Sucks, because I keep forgetting its dirty..

 

Haha that's a good problem to have. My last truck, Tacoma, was silver. It always looked good washed or not. Didnt have a coating it was just a great color. I was looking for a silver tundra but ended up finding my blue one for a price I couldn't pass up on. Found a 2014 silver with 60m more miles for the same price, and a 2015 silver with 15k more miles for 4k more. Needless to say I learned to live with blue.

 

Agreed, I think it looks great with just a little poke out like yours. Maybe even a tad more would look even better. But I'd take your look 7 days a week and twice on sundays over the whole tire sticking out. If I could get mine to stick out just a tad more like yours, maybe even a tad more, I think it would be perfect. So the plan is the next time I need new shoes I'm gonna go the the body mount chop route and throw on a true 35x12.5x18. Haven't seen anyone with a true 35x12.5 on a stock rim w/1.25 spacer so not even sure it can be done. Haven't sold myself on throwing on some bronze fn bfd's, volk's, method's, or scs's with more offset and losing the spacers yet. Right now the plan is install the train horns collecting dust, get sliders, then some more RG's when it's time. Almost got 30k on these.

I know, usually I do get down to the deep dirty Jerz south and at least visit the beaches on a little vacation. I've been stuck up in the dirty Jerz north all year. My busy season is approaching so I've missed that opportunity for this year. Too busy buying truck parts and putting them on lol. I'll probably be down that way next year when the weather warms up. Assuming I can remember with my horrible memory I'll definitely let u know if and when I do. 2 guys with badass tundras still qualifies for a meet in my books.

Btw loving the Pelfrey u got around to putting on, looks great. Besides the extra protection it provides, plus the function it adds paired with the winch, I love the look of it. The factor 55 fairlead is the cherry on top for a nice clean look. (wonder where u got the idea of that red 1?lol) I'm guessing u driving dirty like me too with no front plate on or u got something up your sleeve that allows for the fairlead to remain on with a flip plate over?

 

Going to play dumb on the plate mount. "Sorry officer, it didn't come with one, here is my front tag."

I did the red f55 pro link because I got it for $80 used from facebook. Looking at maybe painting it, but I am digging the red.

I agree, imo the coating is well worth it. If u like a clean truck and want it to look great almost all the time with very little effort it's the way to go.

I know the owner Anthony of a place that does it. Auto polishing center in NJ. They are the only people who are established to do the Artic Coating in the U.S. Its big in Canda now. Those same people were the ones who started the company ceramic pro. They didnt like the way the company was headed for some reason so they broke off and started the Artic Coating brand. They're actually out of like Norway so they're very familiar with the elements of snow, salt, ect we experience near us. If and when you are ready, let me know, CT ain't too far from there and I'll give him a shout for you. He'll hook u up with a free loaner while it's getting done and probably take care of you on the price. Do yourself a favor and take a look at both the websites and Facebook pages of both Artic Coating and Auto Polishing Center(APC) No rush he ain't going anywhere, he's been around forever and sitting on a gold mine with the business he does there. Very good and reputable business and owner.

What tint and percent is that?

 

Yeah that was rhe 2nd issue addressed at dealership

1. Swap shoes
2. Pull that hideous pinstripe off
3. Ceramic coat

All done while in with finance and watching the games in the lounge.

 

Hi Tim, that's just regular tint, nothing fancy like ceramic or anything. I might save that for the front windshield. I kept the factory rear and sides. I wanted to match the factory tint as close as possible. To do so I went 1 shade darker, I think it was like 5% darker on the front side windows so that when the sun shines through the front windshield it matches the factory tint as close as possible. Without doing so and just matching the front sides they would actually appear a lighter % and not match as close. Going that tad darker you cant tell when you look that it is actually darker from the rear, it looks exactly the same with the extra light from the front windshield. Hope that little bit of info helps in your decision.

 

The 2 PROs i found on lots both had pinstriping. But then again almost everything on lot had it.

Having worked in that biz I can tell u why. It's because they can take something that costs them pennies on the dollar and make money on it. I've seen places charge a couple hundred, like 275 for a fn stupid stripe

 

I got lucky there was no charge for it nor having them peel it off before ceramic coat.

 

Something I learned with my years of life experience. The trick is go close to same percentage as the back and rear, but just like 5-10% darker on front to account for light from windshield. Like I said at 5% u won't be able to even tell it's darker looking at it. When the sun enters it will look like an exact match.

 

Also adddd a short antenna from Amazon this week. Seems to be just as good as the factory antenna.

This was a mod I was aware of but never planned on until I tripped over a deal to good to pass up on the sound deading material. I winged it and used the plastic handle of my 5/16 nut driver, no roller needed. Once again rear seat fold down mod comes in handy.
