Spent about 4 hours sound deadening the back seats area today. Hopefully worth it. I had already done the doors and it seemed to help the road and exhaust noise quite a bit. Now I just have the front floors to go and maybe one day the roof.

Wrapped my steering wheel

 

Just arrived today and got it installed in the 100deg heat

 

Looks sick. Gonna need the details. I'm guessing u were having the same issues that I am with the rubber steer wheel wearing. This is 1 I really wish I didn't need to do but I'm going to have to since Toyota put a cheap ass wheel in the pros. Just from regular use mine is beginning to show some wear spots and I wish it wasn't because I have no idea how to wrap a wheel. Zero clue.

 

How difficult was this? My steering wheel is beginning to get wear marks on it. apparently the previous owner and i hold the steering wheel in the same areas

 

I have the same one but I installed it during a windy fall day high 5!!

 

Last night I replaced the busted side cover on my drivers seat. about $60 for the part from Sparks. Took just a few minutes and now my truck doesn't look ghetto when I open the door!

 

great looking cover. does it use the factory rails?

 

my question as well. my limited has a leather wheel but perhaps we'll see heated steering wheel kits one day soon. had that on my suburban and it was the bomb in cold weather.

 

Hey Andrew, just quick question. I noticed on my hitch when I put it in reverse I saw it moving, kinda wobble, that was without anything on it. I know my hitch is quite heavy like 74 lbs, which is probably why I noticed the movement. I also know manufacturers make their shanks just a tad shy of 2 inches to make sure their hitches shank will be able to be received by the hitch. I just got in the mail their anti rattle hitch tightener, put it on, and it worked perfect. No more movement. I figured if it was going to move without any weight, it might cause the trailer to sway with weight. So I nipped it in the butt and now it's solid back there. It no longer will move or cause any sounds or slap.

I was just curious if you ever looked at yours in reverse on the camera and noticed any movement out your hitch? Was just curious if it was maybe due to the extra weight of mine or if all their hitches have that little extra space less than 2 inches in their shank, so that all 2 inch receivers will accept all their hitches. Mine didn't even make any noise or anything annoying. I just noticed it wiggling around a bit in the reverse camera when I backed up. So I'm assuming it's gotta be doing the same down the highway at 80mph, maybe, probably worse. It didn't cause me any problem or issue so don't worry on yours. I just noticed it and figured it could cause some sway if it moves like that with a load on, so I figured I'd get their tightener and it worked like a charm. Nice and solid back there now. It's not going to be moving anymore, that's for sure.

 

Thanks! If you're talking about the cargo cleat rails (Toyota Cargo Management System), no, it doesn't. It uses rails that clamp onto the bed sides. I think the Encore might be one of the few covers that isn't compatible with the TCMS.

 

I installed the Bilstein 5100 leveling struts in the front today. Using the middle groove (1.5"). Measurements are 38.5" up front and 39.5" in the rear. It took me 3.5 hours to do the install. Hopefully this helps others interested in doing this install. I may install 1" shackles in the rear. We'll see how the suspension settles in a few months.

 

It was time consuming but not bad. I watched one video on YouTube for the threading and I was off to the races. If I can do it anyone can. Just make sure you line it up right with the controls and the rest is easy.
