I put a bead of clear silicone along the back of the molding and placed it back on the roof of my truck. It's been almost a year with no issue.

Will do Phil. I replaced the stock filter with the AFE oiless. I'm not going to say it greatly increased power, mpg, or sound but I did notice a very little difference. The truck felt a tad smoother and felt like it ran just a tiny bit better. On computer it said I was averaging a little less than 1mpg better.

Now I've only had it on for a couple days so it could be placebo effect. My truck only has 20k and when I took out stock filter it wasn't bad at all. That could help a little to and account for slight increase in performance.

Now what I can say is that the filter just drops right in perfectly. Very easy to change. I can also say the quality of the product is awesome. Big difference in look and feel of the filter. That plus the ability to just clean every 20k or so is great and I'll never have to buy another filter. I saw on a dyno that with the tune by adding the afe filter it added 6hp.

For the tune, I just installed it last night. Although it's not mandatory, I wanted to run more premium gas in it and see if that caused any difference in feel, since I've only ever ran regular since I got the truck. I didn't feel any difference between regular and plus. I wanted to see if I could feel a difference before the tune and I didn't.

I didn't have a chance to drive today but will be commuting to work and putting least 40miles/day. I took quick spin last night for like 5 min just around house and could definitely feel a difference. 2 things for sure it shifts much quicker and without torque management it don't feel like the truck is being held back when I take my foot off the gas. I didn't get on it but I'll be able to update u and anyone else better toward the end of the week. Based on my driving habits the ecu will have learned all it needs to by the end of this week. I'll let you know what I think and feel by end of the week. Just the limited quick spin last night has me guessing it's money well spent but I definitely couldn't do a honest in depth review based solely on that.

Plastidip the ends to see if you like it or not. Its easily removed then you can decide what you like better. I dipped my rear. Holding up fine still after 6 months with power washing.

I painted the front as it sees more dirt and grime. The rear doesnt get as bad. Eventually ill paint it but rather use that money for something else.

Dumb question, do I have to take them off and bring them to a shop or can they be done on the truck!

I asked the same. You have to take them off. Fronts are super easy and you should be able to get it done for less than $200

    Also,

On the rears, do I have to buy the black brackets under the chrome end caps again, or do I use the orgional one attached, I know if I buy the rear end caps from Roman, I have to buy the end caps and the metal black brackets under them on the bumper!

Or is as simple as just taking the front and rear chrome end caps off, then take them to a good paint and body shop and have them strip the chrome, powder coat and then I just pick them up and install them back on with no additional hardware needed?

I hope this makes sense, Thanks

    Makes plenty of sense

You can just take them off and put them back on. The back is a bit tougher than the fronts. Look in the DIY threads on here. There are plenty of write ups and YouTube videos that assist. I never took the back ones off and just painted mine. The fronts are super easy and shouldn’t take more than about 30minutes per side. You have to take the grill off to get to all the bolts but once you get it off and the panels below the headlights then you’ll clearly see everything you need to take off

    Yes
NAPA has the super white exact color that’s even labeled for Toyota Super White. I used about 3 cans per side and took a sander to the chrome prior to painting. About 6 or 7 good coats with a few clear coats and they looked great until I started off roading fairly hard. Scratches and scrapes pulled the clear coat off and they started absorbing the road grime. I’m ok with how they look and just coat again every few months. I beat my truck up quite a bit so it’s not that big of a deal. I’ve since removed my front bumper too add an aftermarket bumper but below is a shot I took today that can show you how the back still looks after 6months. If you zoom in you can tell it’s an exact match

Sold one of my collectibles and made a $3,000 profit. Trying to think of what I want to do. This might be the only time when I can convince myself to really upgrade my audio since its so expensive and it will essentially be "free".
