What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

I purchased the set from another member on here so I’m not exactly sure what he used but it’s a smoke tinted film of some sort, I can try to reach out to him and see what he wrapped them with. I agree it looks way better than the shiny red OEM. I also upgraded them with the plug and play Hot Tails kit from @memario1214 they replace the factory halogen bulbs with VLED’s. It also gives your turn signal an amber bulb that illuminates the same location as the reverse light, instead of the whole red portion of your brake light flashing for the turn signal.

 

I did his box and single 10” JL sub about two months ago, very pleased with the outcome.

I did the same to mine - don't remember from whom, but the idea came off this forum. I used this:

and an Xacto knife. Did the clear portion of the 3rd-brake light, too.

 

1st oem piece showed up today. Waiting on quite a few pieces from AJT and 3 more oem pieces and then I'll completely disassemble my dash.

What other OEM pieces are you using??

 

The 2 on each side of the steering wheel, above brake controller and the other side, the piece above the glove box. Mine are woodgrain and I ordered black.

Correct - we pay for the higher trim vehicles and then we replace the higher trim with the base black! Love it. (Although fewer replacements for the platinum than the 1794.

 

True. I'm not a woodgrain kinda guy. The silver pieces in my opinion, is just not good. I did the oem blackout dash in my 17 sr5.

But ran out of daylight, tomorrow I’ll mount a warn winch and RCI Arapaho bumper!

 

Do you get any sun glare from those pieces?

 

No sir the trim looks more shiny in pics than it really looks like while in the truck

 

How long did it take to pull the dash apart and reinstall it?

 

Most all these pieces are overlays but they cover well and I heated the underside 3M strips before attaching.I also wiped down the OEM pieces with denatured alcohol to remove any interior surface protectant for optimum adhesion.

 

Looking for some help. I've used the search and it takes me to threads that talk about mirror caps but no part #s. Can they be ordered already painted or do I need to get them painted? Also pointed in the right direction for a #. Thanks

You can do a search on eBay there's quite a few outlets for color matched mirror covers
