What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Just finished putting new front brake pads on. First time ever on the 2.5 generation Tundra. What a learning curve. I've done brakes on other vehicles before but the Tundra is a little different. The Pistons move too much. Too had to use two c-clamps since I don't have one of those brake tools.

Yeah I was going to get one but I decided to do the brakes at the last minute because it was making screeching noises and it's down to almost metal to metal. I'll get it for next time, I have to do the rears anyways.

 

Changed the rear diff fluid just now. Good news is I only found very fine shavings on the plug and the fluid looked new still.

Those RAVENOL bottles made me look like a total jackass until I figured them out. Once I did, it’s fantastic design!

Wish oil came in bottles like that here.

Have decided on a different compression for the pistons?

 

@Bham TRD I just did the same today too. Rear diff is happy, minimal metal particles on the drain plug magnet with over 100k now is good to see. Amsoil easy packs made it a breeze.

 

I’m right at 100k too, was very happy with what I saw as well, great peace of mind.

When my kids were very young, they loved going with me to the dump on Saturdays, then to whatever cheap fast food joint that had a play place and $1 hamburgers. Simple joys in life.

PS - my kids aren’t grown up yet, so don’t think I’m some old geezer waxing eloquent…

 

BC says 4 weeks for pistons if that’s true then I’ll do that in a lower compression 9.5:1 if not then I’ll go to 10:0

 

What a pain the ass to install everything.

RCI instructions are not good. I have rock slider bolts that I have no idea where to put them. The cat guards make installing the skid plate package near impossible. I had to take one side off, but couldn't retighten all those bolts on the cat guards.

 

The $1 burgers are the dead giveaway that this hasn't been too recent. Lol

 

hhahahayea its like $40 to eat at that place now.

 

For real, it's crazy. It's actually cheaper to take the fan to a local sit down joint than to McD's these days

Oil change today. Installed a Valvomax drain valve and aluminum oil filter housing while I was at it

What’s the offset for the rock warrior wheels? Anyone know?

 

5x150, +50mm offset, and ~24 pounds each.
