Moved wires from my Haltech flying lead harness over to the Boomslang plug-and-play harness, added sensor inputs, sensor grounds, DPO outputs and CAN plug wiring. I still need to join the sensor grounds, join the 12v switched wires and extend those for termination in the truck. Once I get over my analysis paralysis and choose a mounting location I can get everything trimmed down, terminated and loomed.

I have used Optima. More expensive, but they really are worth the money. Especially if you are like me and only drive your truck for short trips or don't drive it for over a month sometimes. Then you decide it is time to go wheeling, the battery is the last thing to worry about.

He gets handles often but they go quickly. If you message him, he will sometimes message back when he posts one.

Officially have everything I need to install all new suspension aside from the time to actually do it lol. And some anti-seize, but that’s easy to get.

Drove Big Booty Judy for the first time in a month after a rear diff failure, R&R of both front and rear, and a regear to 5.29s from ZUK.

If y'all need gears done, contact Ayers in PHX too...ask for Parker. His family owned business can do cryo and REM on any sets. Only noise I hear was tires on pavement instead of the near constant whine I've had for two years.

As an aside too, anyone know why my FRAC system would stop working after sitting for a month? Its done this before, but I cant recall the situation. Required pulling the radio, unplugging and replugging things back in and it was fine after that.

went over to check on the travel trailer. i was able to successfully rig up an extension for the 7pin plug since my new WDH shank is longer to clear the tailgate, thus requiring more length on the trailer wires.

First oil change on the Tundra as well as first oil change I’ve done in a decade or so.

Pretty straightforward except for two small issues:
    1. As the oil slowed down coming out of the pan it started dripping onto the TRD skid plate, so much so it was dripping out the other end towards the front. I’m due to pull that off anyways as I’d like to clean it and paint it black with SEM Trim Black and also to swap front sway bar for TRD sway bar. I ended up jacking the truck up on drivers side to help it finish draining a bit faster and avoid more mess to clean on the skid plate.
    2. The filter drain plug didn’t come out, instead the entire filter did, so a bit more mess. I didn’t have a vice or filter wrench to get the drain plug out after I pulled the filter so just punted it to the next change. Figured it only needs a new gasket if I had actually pulled the drain pug off.
Also I looked carefully and everywhere for the crush washer and could not find it, so further confirmation it’s better to do it myself (also dealership will have me sitting for 2-3 hours sometimes for an oil change).

Finally I installed the Valvomax drain plug - with the skid plate issue this seems like a really good idea for next time.

And I installed a Fumoto valve but I like the one you added also. You can also order a pack of the crush washers off Amazon

Those look like they function way better than the Toyota junk I’ve got. May have to snag those.

Yep I have - filter wrench fit perfectly and the screw in funnel also made it super easy to fill. Didn’t get to use the filter drain tool unfortunately.

I watched a vid from the car care nut talking about not switching to the metal oil cap. Seemed a bit overly cautious. What benefit do they provide other than not being plastic?

The Valvomax came with its own washer so didn’t need. My dealership also sticks one in the box when I buy a filter there. Was more concerned that last oil change didn’t put one on.

Someone else on here found it.
It is a Toyota part (for the Prius but fits 2.5 Gen Tundra exactly with the same connector) 85532-48080.
It is pricey $94, so best to buy during one of the 25% off sales - hopefully July 4th - for $71.

    Edit - credit to @Gtboosted

I can’t vouch for durability but they seem nice and for what I assume was a price error was a good buy. They fit really well too.

Yeah I didn't think about not needing the washer anymore....duh...I watched the same YouTube from the Car Care Nut and had the exact problem getting the dang plastic filter housing off after the dealership I bought the truck from did a presale service.Glad I had the metal filter housing on standby and that's what is on my truck now with no issues

Are you sure you weren't referring to the lower control arm bolts?

    Those fuckers always sieze!

In the last 25 years of Toyota truck ownership, every truck has had at least 1 siezed bolt.

In fact, my '21 has both rear cam bolts froze up. SMH.

Both actually! I’m tabling messing with LCA bolts until I pick up some oem LCA’s and just replace the whole thing instead of doing bolts and bushings.

So the new motor on the left is a special spec motor straight from TRD. The one coming out of my truck will get fully built to hold 800-1000hp.

I had a buddy who was having a spec race truck built by terrible herbst team. The team ordered it but then they went to get it cleared by the racing org and they didn’t want to add a Toyota motor to the class so they pulled it out. The motor on the right I’m giving to Snivilous for parts R&D for the community.

Wow man, that's a whole bunch of awesome!! 800-1000 HP? Good Lord!! That's incredible. Now is that TRD engine a 5.7 like ours? I mean, I'm sure it would have cams and pistons and all rhe good internals. But is it or is it something bigger?

Wow, I had no idea the block and heads could handle 1000 horses. Wow, that's impressive. I like things to be overbuilt. That's how I make my knives.
