    They're definitely safe as long as you get good new or good almost new. Like I said before I would not buy used, but that's me. They are no less safe or can cause anymore issues than an offset rim if done properly and with good quality. It's essentially the same exact thing as an offset rim. You want a good quality hub centric like spidertrax or bora. I heard a couple people complaining about the length or quality of some boras, but never heard any issues with spidertrax. Like mentioned above u don't want to buy someone else's problem or caused issue to save a few bucks. Tons of people serious off-road with spidertrax and it's been good for them it's good for me. I wouldn't hesitate if I had to do it again, they're great. I think they might even make a 2 inch now for the Tundra which I don't think they did when I was looking.

    Good points @Watt maker
    @Richie D
    If your going to go the spacer route- maybe just don't. Just save up the $$$ do to right and buy the wheels with the proper offset. Wheels and tires?...hmmm let me think about this for a nano second- besides excellent brakes, excellent wheels and tires are one of the most important safety features on your truck. Just not something I am willing to go cheap on for a "look".

    Spacers ARE adding another dynamic to the wheel/hub that you better make dam sure are torqued properly all the time including your lugs. Tire wear, balance can all be impacted by improperly torqued spacers. Personally not something I want to ever think about when out on the superslab running in the hammer lane. A proper offset wheel with (5)properly torqued lugs, is not the same as having (5) additional spacer lugs that you have with spacers, giving you (10) lugs to maintain.

    Should you get in a bad accident due to a loose wheel or worse yet a failed wheel spacer it opens up a Pandoras box of questions for money grubbing fat fingered insurance attorneys big time. Yes, I know lots of car and truck owners run them.

    I also have a two friends in the tire business who would not run spacers on their personal vehicles that their wife and kids ride in. That tells me pretty much all I need to know about spacers. Infact they don't even want the liability for working on wheels with spacers- or will only by a via hold harmless clause. The potential liability and potential risks outweigh the "look" IMO.

    Just another view point to consider. In the end it's your $$$ bro :thumbsup:

    Amen brother! i'm with you 100%. I don't want to make a reliable rig un-reliable. I have the tires on and though I would like the stance a little more aggressive I absolutely don't want the headache. I'm going to hold off and next summer grab a set of rims with the proper offset and be done with it. The way they sit now is kinda growing on me;)

    I washed my truck for the 1st time ever. I ordered a bunch of Adams Polishes gear and did the two bucket method, but too lazy for any polish etc. It still took awhile....now I know why most places charge extra for a full size vehicle.

    Think about getting CERAMIC COATING.... in the long term it’s worth the investment and your time. I hate having to wash, dry, wax and once in a while clay bar. Now I just use my power washer, dry and done. For daily maintenance I use the spray bottle with 1/2 cap of solution with 32oz of water which will last me about a month of daily spraying.

    I paid that for 5 year ceramic coating protection and window glass protection, yes it’s heela expensive but so is dropping $$$$$ for the Tundra, so protecting your investment and time spent on the labor, chemicals for soap, glass, detail stuff, wax, clay bar and most importantly your time...do it you won’t regret it

    I had some amber film and a pair of cheap 20w 2x3 LED pods. Removed the lenses and applied the film from the back, sealed and water tested (successfully) before reinstalling. Installed next to my 20" light bar - almost looks like it was supposed to come this way. These are on a separate switch from the light bar so they can be controlled independently.

    Forgive my dirty truck - I've been in Louisville for a week and the garage is 1/2 dedicated to a furniture refinishing project.. Truck has been out in the wind and rain for 8 or 9 days. =(

    I also noticed that a rock chip I got on I-80 right before I left town has grown into a massive crack. This stretch of road is BRUTAL right now with construction at Rio Tinto Copper Mine - lots of trucks full of gravel getting on and off.. I don't tailgate, got nailed right before I went out of town with at least 5-7 car lengths between me and the car in front of me. Made a huge chip that I didn't have a chance to get repaired. When I got home last night it had become a pretty huge crack right up the middle of my windshield. Fortunately my insurance deductible is only $50 for a new windshield, which would be nearly $800 cash.
