Congratulations! Any suggestions that you would want in your truck now that you have the little one in it all the time? We have definitely decided to get 2 bases so we can swap back and forth between my truck and the wife’s sequoia. We do drive both vehicles quite frequently.

Scared the hell outta me when I opened it up initially. After I regained my composure, I got a long flathead to lift the filter up and took the picture. Wife convinced me to call a person to “relocate” the snake. Should’ve kept it there because after it was removed the damn mice came back.

Tested pre-war made Siberian mobile sauna-in-a-tent! Ordered from Japan! Kids loved rolling in the snow while dad adds more wood! Not very hot, maybe 200 degrees. For 20 F ambient temp it needs better insulation. The xbox addict said sauna is better than xbox. In fact, the best day in his life! Can we please do sauna tomorrow?

A good seat cover, we bought one to go under the base to prevent it from wearing on the truck. We also bought a small fan that clips to the handle of his seat and plugs in to the truck. These things do not do well moving air when they are rear facing. So the fan has helped a lot. And even though I have very dark tint, we bought the roll up shade thing for his window. It has helped him a lot.

Truck specific, I think that is it. And thank you!

What kind of cover? Like the soft plastic one from weathertech?

I've been wondering if I should get something for the base itself to sit on to prevent any wear.

I have an idea and I’m sure it’s not an original one. I have a 2019 tundra crew max and was considering bed stiffeners but I have swing case tool boxes already installed.

    are the two compatible?
Would I have the sandwich the mounts ?
If I’m not running anything camper wise do I even need them ?

    thanks in advance

I don't beleive the stiffeners will fit with swing cases. SDHQ has hidden ones though that mount under the bed.....

Without modifications no, but I think I remember seeing someone making them work together. I do have the SDHQ stiffeners mentioned above and I like them, spendy compared to other options but nice.

I wouldn't think they're necessary but hey probably most of the mods I've done too my Tundra weren't necessary either...:)

With newer technology, one thing I wish I'd had when my son was a baby was remote start via smartphone. Putting a tired 1yo in a car in the Texas summer heat disappointed me almost as much as it did him. Starting it before I was in range of the fob radio would have been great.

Trying to chase down a possible electrical issue.

Question for the group. I have a 2014 SR5. Does anyone else have backlighting from the factory on all the buttons and switches in the cab with the head lights turned off?

Great advice. I have no issues at this point and look at it a lot. There is some blind trust, but with the new formula we are using I am in in every 48 hours.

No, we bought this. I was told by others I should have gotten a larger one, but it has worked great so far.

    upload_2025-2-11_11-0-52.png

So very true! and a great call out. We always have a cooler in the truck, mostly because we live so far out of town. Since the cooler is there, this was an easy decision and one we use a lot.

Yes. I have an 08. The back light is always on.

I never checked the '21 to see if it is the same.

I have a 16 Limited. First twist of the stalk is parking lights I believe (which also turns on all dash/button lights). Second twist is headlights ofc. When it's completely off, no dash or button lights are on.

Yeah I had thought about that as well
But I keep tow stuff on the left and tools on the right. Underneath the tonneau cover drum is a
ARB twin motor air compressor kit that I’ve just figured out how to tuck and on side of that is Milwaukee 1/2 ratchet set pack out

I’ve just got mount some Charvonia d rings that helped with that.
