Thingiverse.com. The stuff you can download pre designed and just print is mind blowing. For example, just now I was joking about the “snow” we are getting that caused school to close with some friends up north. They asked if I needed a shovel. 1min search later and I’m printing a snow shovel.

Yeah, I was surprised when I saw it. Mind blown how each piece is linked together.

It's crazy for sure. I have quite a few RC cars and the printed stuff that I see for sale on Etsy is pretty neat.

This ghetto version got turned to a far more refined version.

That's awesome! I used to have a collection of RC cars. That was probably one of the most expensive hobbies I got into. I went down the rabbit hole and stuck with strictly Team Associated cars and ran em all with Castle Creations brushless motors and MaxAmps batteries.
Don't know how many parts I'd break from them but now that you mention that, I'd imagine having a 3D printer would be an amazing thing to have on hand.

So far so good! I didn't think I'd like it as much as I do, but man it is really nice peace of mind to have everything in the bed covered and dry. And it takes all of 10 seconds to roll up when I have bigger items or something like my bike to toss in the bed. And not having to shovel snow out of the bed and instead just brush it off the cover is a huge time saver.

I liked that it gave full bed access without blocking the rear window like the bakflip, the price was a great selling point as well.

Big time. I wish it worked with my tailgate pad for my mountain bike, but then the fitment against the tailgate would have to be looser and likely not waterproof, so I think it's a worthy trade off.

So far, a bit more intake noise and a little bit better low end response. Haven’t done a WOT run quite yet. IATs drop quite a bit faster than before, after just sitting idle

Just out of curiosity, have you considered a boat plug option for excessive water? On the older trucks like the 3.4 first gen Tacoma's and 3rd gen 4runners, a lot of guys would do a similar setup but install a boat plug to prevent excessive water intrusion on really wet days. I don't see much need for it, but curious nonetheless.

There’s not really much room to add one with my particular setup. Nevertheless, I don’t think it should be that big of an issue. The grille blocks part of the inlet from foreign debris intrusion and the tube has a riser built into it so water doesn’t naturally flow into the intake box

Question. I see people use those tailgate pads for one bike. Why not just lay the bike down in the box?

Mainly because it looks cooler hanging over the tailgate.

Joking aside, with just one bike laying it down in the bed is fine, but with two or more, the tailgate pad is drastically easier than trying to play bike tetris without scratching anything.

Edit: The tailgate pad it also easier with just one bike.

I don't like my carbon frame bike moving/tossing around on the bed while driving. I also don't like the pad since the contact of the pad and down-frame might cause scratches and cracks on the carbon frame even it is padded. I only use tire hold on the bed so that there is no contact to the frame.

Peeled off the SX stickers from the bed sides. Tyger running boards. A.R.E. DCU topper
For winter, I use a Kuat fork mount to keep my fatbike clean. I used to lay it down in the back but the bed liner was bad about scuffing up the seat.

I had the same concern. RockyMounts for the win! These secure my bikes firmly and with a lock. Peace of mind when I run somewhere and leave an expensive bike or two in back.

Thanks. I meet folks occasionally to ride, but we all take our own vehicles.

Thanks. You ever look into something like Lamin-X to avoid scratches? Trek gave me quite the discount on my Domane, because there was a small scuff on the downtube. I buffed the scuff out and applied Lamin-X to avoid any future issues.

Thanks. Have a BedRug in my Tundra, that spray on bed liner material is no joke.

Thanks. Have a BAK Revolver on my Tundra. The combination of aluminum slats and out of plain sight for the bike keeps it fairly safe.

All of those are ok ideas but really depends on how much u ride. If its a lot like me,3-4 times a week. they dont work. Ive had a bike where I had to replace the front wheel axles because of taking off/on the wheel wore it out. I did the tailgate pad, wore off the paint on the down tube. Had a bike rack on the hitch, makes parking suck, plus seems easy for someone to be behind the truck and steal it. this has been the best mount for me, I leave it on all over the place

Same exact bike and color that I've got! Mine is a 27.5 though. Just finished a 29er Norco build for my son. Bought the frame at goodwill for $50 and rebuilt it from there.

Got a Stumpy Evo, just lay down in bed. Ride 2-3 days a week. Only thing that touches is two tires, side of one pedal, and side of one grip. All wear items. Have a Raceface pad if needing to bring more bikes. Like Brey said, down tube protector and your good.
