Changed my oil from 0w20 to 5w30. Truck feels good. There is a cover that was a pain in the but to take off for the oil filter. Wonder if Toyota ever took it out when I took it to the dealer for the oil changes there. The bolts where pretty hard to unscrew.

Looks like a great trip and minimum damage. Win-win! I've done the TOW trail on two-wheels during a 'round the country MC trip. I wouldn't be able to bring myself to try it in my Tundra.

I have been staring at the same page for three days now.... I need your thoughts...

I want to be able to run a laptop/freezer whenever needed without concern. also, who knows what the future holes with my son...

Which Inverter would actually work and be the best bet for me? I searched and see a variety of information....

I am thinking direct connected to a fuse that requires ignition to be on, in the cab, outlet to the center console and outlet to the bed of the truck.

    1000 or 2000w?

    https://www.renogy.com/1000w-12v-pure-sine-wave-inverter/

The 400 i bought from HF wont even run the laptop charger.

oh man that looks like a blast. I’ll give it a go next year and we’ll see what happens. I think the high clearance bumpers makes the tundra CRAZY capable

    Not sure at this point.
Went down to the coast to grab some lobster rolls before it closed for the season.

Anyway, is it normal to see 400+WHP on stock 3URFE?

I was driving to work earlier, opened it up on an empty road and legitimately saw 400+ on my OBDLink MX.

Nice, you're gonna love it. I went with a Dobinsons leaf pack - no particular reason other than I have Dobinsons on my Land Cruiser and the vendor I use who specializes in Dobinsons (@crikeymike / Exit Offroad) has always been super helpful. So I picked up a Dobinsons leaf pack rated for an additional 220lbs, greasable pins, shackles, u-bolts and bushings.

After I bought it I saw everyone talking about Deaver and I wondered if I should have shopped around more. haha. But no I like the Dobinsons springs a lot and have no complaints.

Just bought the same leaf springs. Really looking forward to getting them installed.

How much lift did you actually get out of them? And was there any settling?

oh im certain they had to. Then just impact it back on without care in the world. Then combine that with where you live, snow, salt etc. it can get seized. My buddy with a 2016 always had the dealer change the oil but we live in Indiana with snow and salt and sand. Guess what happened to the skid plate bolts? They over torqued it and now one is seized and one spun around in circle. We had to cut a square hole where the oil filter is to change it now. Skid plate stays put unless the motor gets service, which will probably not gonna happen for a very long time being his is at 60k. No foreseen issue ahead anytime soon.

Just got it back from Coggins Toyota in Bennington VT 30k heavy duty service and transmission flush.

Where they just changed my oil and rotated the tires and didn't do the transmission or diff's.

Only went to them for the "official toyota quality" and make sure it was done right. This is the 3rd issue I've had with their service department in 4 visits. I won't be going to them for anything ever again. I guess I will be saving money using local guys or doing it myself in the future. Wish I wasn't on gravel though!

Curious how these hold up in the long run, and how they hold up to towing. I just replaced my rear pack with a set of freebies I got from my brother, they were a low mileage set off his dealers 2021 CM plow truck. I think they went with Dobinsons as well on that one.

I suspect I will be in the same boat once I'm done lol. I ended up ordering a can of both Rust Bullet Industrial and their top coat. I was originally going to use the Rustoleum Rust Reformer, Rusty Primer, and Eastwood Extreme Chassis Black for spot repairs of the welds/areas I'd already done Rust Kutter on. I then started looking at Por 15 but after seeing a lot of mixed reviews about adhesion issues I opted to not go that route. I finally settled on Rust Bullet after watching both the Repair Geek and Project Farm videos on the subject. Project Farm ranked Por 15 highest but I was too leery about the bad reviews I'd seen. Repair Geek touched on the Por 15 issues. He ranked Raptor Epoxy Primer + Bed Liner and Master Coat Rust Sealer and Top Coat in first place. I know epoxy primer + top coat is the gold standard for new metal, but 2k epoxy primer is kind of nasty stuff. Por 15, Master Coat, and Rust Bullet are all moisture cure urethanes. Looking at all three products they are fairly similar in composition.
    upload_2024-10-15_9-47-11.png

The thing that stands out about the Master Coat and Rust Bullet is the addition of aluminum. As we all know, aluminum can oxidize but not rust. All 3 products are best suited with a top coat. Due to the Repair Geek video, Master Coat is perpetually sold out which is good for them! Rust Bullet was readily available for ordering so I went that route. Later this week I plan on doing the Rust Bullet + top coat, and then I'll get to spraying Cosmoline first and once dry, wool wax in the body cavities. From my understanding Fluid Film/Wool Wax being lanolin based means they don't ever fully "dry", whereas Cosmoline does. I don't plan on mixing the two, but in the off chance I get some overspray or they do, I'd rather have the Cosmoline on first/dry.

If anyone wants to take a leap of fate, EBC yellowstuff pads are on sale on Amazon. Just picked up a set of front and rears for less than $200. Last set I picked up from Napa was almost $260.

Might resurface rotors since when I last measured it, it was within spec.

But won’t be changing pads again until next season. Figured I may as well get a set now to put off to the side.

The video is too big to load but my first trip to Moab, I went with a buddy who has a '06 Taco double cab. Ford kingpin Dana 60 front and a GM Corporate 14 in the rear, Atlas 3 speed T-case and 42's. This was the result of a bounce in one of the hot tubs on Hells Revenge. I had to tow him most of the way out, as he only had front wheel drive. He blew a axle u-joint on the front axle about a mile from the trail head and had to be rescued by the famous "Trail-Mater" lol

That’s an awesome story!! I didn’t fuck around with the hot tubs - I was by myself and running that trail the morning we were leaving so kept in my mind I needed to drive the truck home. Moab was amazing - 10/10.

I saw them Saturday at Aftershock festival. I've never been a huge fan of theirs but I can definitely respect what they have done. I do know most of their popular songs but they mostly played other songs that most casual listeners wouldn't recognize. My friend, who loves them, even said their set list was weird. They didn't even play Number of the Beast.
